All Star Movies-1st timer help w/???

Hi all! I am usually on the cruise boards, but now I need some help with a last minute trip.

We haven't been to WDW in about 3 years and honestly it was a trip from hell! (WDW was great-life was not)

Now, I want to make some new memories with my daughter.

On 8/20 DD 7 and myself are flying down to Orlando from JFK and staying a "pre-night" and the next 4 nights at the All Star Movies
resort. I've basically planned our days to a degree. I have questions about the resort.

Are the pools open at night? If we come back after Illuminatons, Wishes, etc-will we be able to get somthing to eat? About transportation to and from the parks, I understand that there can be a long wait for busses. Are ther other options?

Yes the pools are open in the evenings.........and given the time that you are coming the crowds should not be to bad since most of FL is back in school by that time and most others are home trying to get their kids ready to start school. You need to check the Aug. park hours to plan which days for which parks. AS has a food court not sure on their hours but I would imagine something would be open, for people returning from the parks. Perhaps check the wdw website for resort info?

check allearsnet.com not only do they have the hours listed for the food court, but also the menus. Just go under the dining section and then menus. There will be one listed for the food court at whichever AS you are staying in. Have a wonderful trip.

When we stayed at ASMO(3x now) the food court has always been open when we return on nights when we closed the parks.

Also, as for bus service...the best bus service we have had in WDW, has been during our stays at ASMO. IMO, its the best there.

If I remember correctly at least one section of the food court is open until midnight. It's possible that they are only open until 11 pm, but I'm sure it was later.

Hope you and your daughter have an amazing trip! ASMo is my favorite resort!!! Toy Story is my favorite section.

we have always had a GREAT at the allstars. last summer was 1st time at the MOVIES. we had the DALMATION bldg. great location. the whole place only take s a few mins. to walk. The food court is really good, alot of choices. my dd has liked alot of stuff there. if i remember , last summer when we got back from the parks, i thought the food court was open until midnight. i know it was after 11.00 at night when we have gone done to snack....ha ha . i think you and your daughter will love this place, its alot of fun. have a great trip.

Fod court and pool open till Midnight. No life guard after 10pm The buses are not too bad never waited longer then 15 minutes Going again this year in Sept. I love ASMo you should have a great time.

we just came back from there. and part of the food court is open till 11:00 or so. some days my wife had to run there while i went to the room to bring the mugs. the pools were open till midnight and fantasia was always packed. ducks were more relax.

Wow! Thank you so much!!

This trip is sure to be magical. I quit smoking when we came back from the Disney Magic this past Feb. My #1 fan and cheerleader is my daughter. Since she could talk, she has urged me to give up cigarettes. Well after 30 years, my two pack-a-day habit is a thing of the past, thank God.

This trip is a way for Tess (DD) and I to make new, smoke-free Disney memories.

My family and I are from upstate NY and we are going to be at All Star Movies that week as well. Do you know what building you are staying in?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what building we should be in. I think we are booked in Fantasia right now, but that can be changed.

here's a link you can check to see which building you like.. some are quiet (further from entrance, bus, food court) others are closer........ sounds like Fantasia is a closer one!! we actually reserved #10 bldg...buzz.

I stayed in the #9 building which was the toy story woody building and loved it. I believe it was just as close to the entance as the Perfered buildings but better. We were not in front of the pool so it was quiter. I will be staying there as well this time around. any of the toy story building facing andys room is a great place to stay.

okay, we all now know the time the place closes....how about: what time does it open?? also, anyone remember what time the gift shop opens??? need to know what time they open cuz we're buying milk for breakfast in the room and our first day there is EMH....and i plan on being there when MK opens for that!!!!!

We were in Bldg. 7 (I think), Herbie the Love Bug. It was very quiet (except for the loud toilets!). We just had to walk a bit to the food court. There is "grab & go" food in the refrigerator section--sandwiches, salads, etc. The Italian food (pasta, pizza) section was open the latest. The food was pretty good--I really liked the chicken parm, the cheeseburgers were very good, and the omelets were yummy. I love the AllStars--I can't wait to go back. The buses were great, I never waited more than 10 minutes for one.
