If we stay at the AS movie resort can we request a certain building: 101 Dal, Toy Story...? My dd, who is very much a girl, would not like the mighty ducks. Or are we stuck with what's open when we check in?

You can request certin themes, but I belive that some you may have to pay a prefered price. I may be wrong though.

Fantasia is the preferred building at All Star Movies, so if your DD wants to stay there the cost will be $10 more per night.

You can call CRO and request the building you prefer, and they will note it on your reservation. You can also fax the resort 3-4 days before arrival with your location preferences. We requested 101 Dalmatians for our 2000 visit, and when we arrived they had us in Love Bug. We asked if there was anything open in Dalmatians, and the CM switched us over immediately. They try to accomodate all requests, but it's good to have everything noted on your reservation (just in case you're a late arrival, etc.) Just keep in mind that if you're traveling during a busy time, you might not get exactly what you've requested.

Have a great trip! :D

I would specify what you want. I have had pretty good luck at all my requests. Fantasia is an extra $10 a night.
But the location of Toy Story section is VERY good.
We were on the backside of the Woody building. It was very quiet. The view wasn't a lot to speak of (a small parking lot somewhat concealed by short trees). But I can't say any view really would be inspiring.
I always ask for the third (top) floor for quiet. That way we don't hear any overhead thumping and the noise from other guest's turbo tiolets. (Which have been known to suck people down from the sink area.) ;) :jester:
I LOVED the room location we had. It was a corner room by the elevators, but far enough we couldn't hear them. (However we aren't in the room much anyway.)
The front side of the Woody building (bldg #9) may be more noisy because it faces Andy's Room, the large (and wonderful) courtyard that is busy.
The Buzz building (#10) may be more noisy than the Woody buidling. On one side of #10, rooms face the vehicle traffic. The other side of the building overlooks Andy's Room.

All-Star's is the only resort I've ever stayed it which checked on my request when I checked in. What I mean by that is that I'd requested the Jazz building, upper floor, on my ressie. But when I got there, it was as if they hadn't made any room assignment. The CM who checked me in called someone while I waited and asked if there were any rooms available on an upper floor in Jazz. And I got exactly that! At the other resorts it's been as if my room was already assigned and the CM at the front desk tells me. And if I ask for a different room (once I was traveling solo and was assigned a first floor room-really important to me to have upper level when I'm solo), it's a major production to try to change it. I liked this system, and hope they have it next time I'm at ASMovies.

We have always gotten the building we requested at the AllStars. Our last trip we requested the Fantasia building at Movies, but we ALSO requested the Sorcerer Mickey building NOT the ballerina building. We have 2 boys and I didn't think they would enjoy being in a building with a bunch of pink ballerina's on it.We got exactly what we asked for,so I guess it does pay to have it noted on your reservation.
