I have been to WDW twice. June 06 stayed at Nick Hotel and Dec 07/Jan 08 stayed at Pop Century. We are starting our planning now for a trip in May 09. We know we want to stay at a WDW property but want to stay away fro the deluxe resorts. We know with our last two trips we use the rooms for sleeping, getting ready, and we eat at least one quick meal a day at the resort. We will be traveling with a 2 year old, 4 year old (who is a handful), and a 9 year old. We have it down to All Star Movie (due to the figurines and simple pools for the kids) and the Carribean Resort. Does anyone has some advice on which is better? Has anyone stayed here? We are looking at a family suite at the All Star Movie has anyone stayed in one of these rooms before please share all opinions good and bad.

I have stayed at a standard room at the Movies.....But not in the Family Suites.....I have 2 girls that are 6 & 3....We stayed at the Carribean last year for my Birthday......It had a wonderful laid back feel, had a little beach and Hammocks and playground and My Kids Loved it and it was wonderful to come back to the room and take a break, Our room was Larger that at the Movies and it seemed more comfy, the girls had all there Toys in a little area and out of the way of Mom and Dad..I also Like how you have the curtain for Privacy in the Vanity/SInk area ....We visited both the Main Pool for some fun and the pool by the room for a quiet dip......We even requested a room next to family and they were so nice to Accomodate us...We like to have breakfast or snacks in the room and having the fridge helped alot......By far one of my favorites......Any more questions please ask......ALl in all, Hubby and I liked the Carribean for the laid back feel of it all, When you spend the day at the parks having so much fun its real nice to come back and just relax...and that is what we got from the Carribean, We have stayed twice and will go back again.......

I thought only All Star Music had the suites, but then I am not sure. :confused3

Anyhoo, on our first trip to WDW, my kids were about the same age as two of yours are now (2 and 4). and we stayed at ASMo and my kids abolutely loved it. It is a fun resort. But then our last trip in 10/08, them now being 5 and 7, we stayed at CBR and we all loved that resort so much more. The kids loved the main pool slide, which will be a new pirate fort themed pool when you go, :thumbsup2, the quiet pools and playing on the many beaches that CBR has. We also loved the theming of this resort. It really felt like a tropical vacation. We are headed back there in October again. :woohoo:

Have fun planning!!

We absolutely loved our two stays at the CBR.

The theming is so nice and relaxing. All of the buildings are painted bright colors and the landscaping is so lush. The resort is large but that also means that the guests are distributed throughout the resort so that you never feel crowded. There is an internal resort bus that will take you around the resort if you don't want to walk.

The CBR is centrally located on WDW property so it won't take you long to reach any Disney destination. The buses ran efficiently during both of our June stays. We never had to wait long for a bus going to or come from the theme parks.

Each village has their own quiet pool, laundry facility and beach, complete with beach chairs and hammocks. Some of the beaches even have small playgrounds. By the time you arrive in May, 2009, the main pool construction will be completed. The pictures and information posted by Safetymom and other posters show it to have a wonderful pirate theme.

There is an island in the middle of the resort and it's a nice quiet place to just sit and relax. Tropical/caribbean music is piped in making it more peaceful. There are picnic tables and benches scattered over the island too.

The CBR has a marina where you can rent watermice, pontoon boats, bicycles and surrey bikes. We rented the four seater surrey bike and round it around the promenade. It was a nice was to see the entire resort buildings and grounds.

Near the main pool, you'll find lots of seating, a hair wrap station and a pool bar. We sat outside and watched the Epcot fireworks on a couple of occasions.

The food court is fairly large and offered quite a variety of foods to choose from. You'll find the typical burgers, chicken strips and pizza but you'll also have the choice of pasta, deli sandwiches, rotissiere chicken, salads and more. The breakfast menu included waffles, pancakes, breakfast meat and other typical morning fare. The Grab N Go station was our favorite....fresh fruit, fresh baked bakery items, pies, cakes, yogurt, etc.

Also in the food court are the drink station, condiment bar, microwaves and toasters.

Shopping at the CBR store was fun too. One side sells pirate and CBR themed items and the other side sells the more typical Disney merchandise. They also have a small section with baby care items, beer, wine coolers, snacks, magazines, etc.

The rooms at the CBR are larger than the other moderates and have plenty of room for a family. There is ample storage areas and the two sinks really come in handy when everybody is getting ready to hit the parks.

Mousekeeping was very good. Our room was cleaned daily and our toiletries, towels, linens and coffee was replinished daily.

I don't think you guys would go wrong by staying at the CBR. It's absolutely lovely. If you'd like pictures, just ask and I'll post them.

I LOVE CBR. I stayed there last May. Great resort. It has a nice laid back feel to it. We stayed in the Martinique section. It was a short 5 min walk to the main pool and DIning area. Great resort and the bus transportation is also great.

We've never stayed ASMU so I can't speak on it's behalf, however we have stayed at CBR and liked it very much. I say if the extra expense is not an issue stay at a moderate, go CBR.

The new pool complex will be opening at CBR in Sept. It is sure to be a big hit with families.

No contest CRB! If you can get it go with preferred location.

I have stayed at both resorts: CBR in Jan. '05 and ASMo in Feb. '06. I like CBR and agree with what many of the posters have said; however, our room was located near the main reception desk and it was quite a walk to get to the main pool and food court/restaurant, too long in my opinion, especially when you purchase the refillable mugs -- too far to go for a refill. Also, we had issues with the buses, simply because we were the second to last stop, so whenever we returned from anywhere we had an extra 10 minutes on the bus because it stopped at multiple other stops first. The buses were usually very crowded on the way back to the resort at night, but not during the morning. If I ever stayed at CBR again, I would request a preferred location, so this might help alleviate some of the issues I had, but would also add to the price. As you can see by my signature, I'm going to back to ASMo in August. Since there are only 3 of us, the smaller room really isn't an issue; also when I'm going back to Disney in August the main pool at CBR will be closed and without that, I really don't see the point in going there; in your case with 3 small children I really don't see how much time you'll have for all the relaxing and quiet time others have posted about! :rotfl: I think you and DH would probably prefer CBR, but I think your kids might enjoy the theming of ASMo more. Anyone, just one person's opinion. Either way, I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time.
