All rooms booked for 2/17/13???

Does anyone know why all DVC rooms (except Saratoga Springs) seem to be booked for 2/17/2013? Is there something special going on that day? We can find rooms before and after, but not for Sunday night. Thanks!

It's President's week, otherwise known as "winter break" in the north east. All the public schools are off in New York and if not mistaken, NJ as well.
It's always been a big travel week for those of us here in NY.

I don't know if anything else is going on that week as well though.

President's Day weekend. Very busy at resorts and theme parks.

We were at Epcot that same day in 2012. Waited 30+ minutes to ride Seas with Nemo & Friends and nearly 20 minutes for JIYI.

The next day is a national holiday Presidents Day so local folks are there Sunday night as well as much of the northeast. So many folks would be there from CT when I was growing up,that I ran into classmates in the MK a few times!

It's too early to give up. SSR has both studios and 1 bedrooms available for 2/17/13 right now.

If you don't get what you want and are willing to stay at one fo the larger DVC resorts, then waitlist for what you want. Something will work out for you.

MA has that week off as well. We do President's Day week every other year--it is very busy in the parks, especially that MOnday. Sometimes we do Monday-Monday travel plans. You may need to shift your vacation a little to get what you want.

RI also, winter break. We booked last week, had to 'wait list' 2 of the days, but received all of them by last Friday. 1 bedroom at Wilderness Lodge, we had a backup plan of Jambo house.
