I've already been to the Disney character warehouse, MANY times and have car ride presents for the kids. I have two new movies for the kids to watch on the way down (Surf's Up and Ratatouille) suitcases are half packed....

Mentally, I can't wait, but really, I am so NOT ready to go! I haven't packed a thing, though I do at least have some lists made and I've started setting aside clothes I know I want to pack so they don't get worn this week! We leave Friday We are flying (LOL, necessary, since we are coming from PA!) so it's not as bad as when we drive to WDW and I always overpack, with flying, there really is a limit to how much I can bring!

My kids still don't know, but I'm so excited it's getting harder to hide!!!

Um, I haven't done much to get ready, yet, beyond decide that we are going to hopefully take off right after picking up my 6th grader from school on Friday. Thursday night/Friday morning I will be frantically packing!

I did manage to get my 5 yo way too excited about the trip by showing him the scrapbook from his big brother's first trip from summer of 2001. Until he looked at the pictures, he didn't really grasp what "going to Disneyland" meant!

Well, the kids are packed and have been for months as we got oufits, bows, shoes etc...they just went in their suitcases, throw in some underware and socks they are ready to go.

Friday night I stayed up until 1:00 am downloading music to both of their ipods
(I can't imagine having ipods, portable tv's and game stations when I was a little girl-MUST BE NICE )

I bought all of our travel size toiletries last night---You can buy a 12 oz shaving cream for a $1.00 or a travel size 2 oz for $1.50, of course we had to buy the travel size, duh we are traveling!

I bought a roll out travel bag for all of our toiletries, medicine and makeup-it's now full and half the stuff is sitting there on the counter waiting to be packed. I am going today to get 2 more roll out travel bags
I didn't realize how much stuff our family needs to function!

All that to say WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO, WE ARE SOOOO EXCITED!I try to stay clear of all posts griping about Thanksgiving and the crowds. We KNOW it's going to be crowded---Great!!! more people to share our vacation with...

I am so excited. After school on Wednesday we head to the airport. Only three more days for me!

I can't believe it's just a week away. I really haven't done much, I haven't packed at all... but I did make all of my Priority Seatings. Now I am planning on not staying the extra day though and my TG reservation is too late for our flight back... so I'm screwed there!!! Oh well, we're going to have a great time no matter what. Oh, and I have another midterm and a term paper to write before we go!!!

Only three more days for us!! Woohoo! I cannot wait. I am about to pop!

I have three suitcases filled so far. Its really cold here, so I can pack warmer weather clothes for all already. Just socks and underwear at the last minute.

I got my lanyards, pins, autograph books, and other Disney paraphenalia down from the attic that I always take to WDW.

I am trying to think of great things to take on the plane to keep the two year old happy for FIVE HOURS. We are taking a DVD player for her, but I know she will want to do other things. Stickers, sewing toy, books. (Drugs for me. ) And LOTS of snacks. There will be no meal served, so I have to bring enough food to feed 3 kids for five hours. I will need a LOT.

Need to start charging all electronic devices and setting chargers out where we won't forget. I have my tickets, papers, and guides all in my carry-on bag. I have printed out all of my reservation numbers for all rentals, hotels, and flights.

We are all home from school Monday and Tuesday together, so I have to get most things done at night between now and Wednesday.

We'll be gone for two weeks, so I need to weather-proof my house and plants too.

Doing laundry today. Cleaning toilets. Taught Sunday school and made arrangements with my subs for the next two weeks.

So much to do when one is going away for so long and with so many kids!

But its all so fun and so worth it!

I'm going to Disneyland for four and a half days!!!

Can't wait!

We leave in 6 days! Now I just have to wait for DH to get back from China so we can pack (he has the big suitcase with him). I hope he gets home a least a day before we leave.

I still need to clean the house, make my "lists" of things to take, write up my "dog instructions" for the house sitter, and do Maybe it is better to check off the things I HAVE done instead of the "to do" list. I've lined up my sub for Sunday School, notified oldest DS's teachers that he will miss a couple days of school, and made all the necessary pre-trip purchases.

We are excited!

Oh, I just thought of something I have actually accomplished: I have arranged for someone to take care of our kitties while we are gone. Now I have to remember to put the mail and newspaper delivery on hold. And, oh yeah, still have all that packing to do...

OMG I cant believe its almost here. YAY!! DD is off from school tomorrow, so we have some time to pick out the non disney outfits (is that possible?) and do the wash.

Tuesday I have to head to Walmart to get some polyfil for her neck rest. And her camera for her own pictures to take.

I do have all my clothes packed haha. But still have to get hubby's and the Dd done.

the dog goes to my dad's tuesday right before we leave to drive down.

I am still doing our daily plans.

Dd has High functioning autism so I have to plan around any melt downs and what rides she can and cant go on. We still have to pick up more glow necklaces and ear plugs.

I keep looking for last minute things we need to do.. OOOOOH Shoot. Dh needs to find the cords for the dvd play for the truck. We have the movies picked out. and music is next.

OK, so Google maps says we can make the drive in 6.5 hours without traffic. So technically this means if we leave at our planned 3pm we can hit the Hojo just in time to see the fireworks from the pool area.

: Hmmmm.....so how fast do you think we'll have to drive to get there in time to run to the park to see the fireworks?? :

As it is, my daily schedule leave little to no "Me" time so I need to find a minute to squeeze in packing for me, DH and the kids. I just can't wait to get out of here for a week. Definately not a relaxing vacation but seeing Disney though the eyes of the kids makes it all worth while.

Amy where are you? We are up north too. It takes us about 8 hrs to drive down. We are leaving at 9pm on Tuesday night so hubby is sleeping when he gets off work at 11am. haha so he can drive the night away.

We are leaving early Friday morning and I have a sore throat! OH NOOOOO! I have no other symptoms, so I am really hoping it's not the start of strep, I usually get strep throat at least once a season! So far I feel fine, no fever, no body ache, and the sore throat isn't terrible, but it just started this afternoon.....if it's not gone by Tuesday morning I am going to get to the doctor for a strep test to be sure so if it is strep, I will have been on abx for a couple days before getting on the plane! I'd appreciate some good thoughts and that I'm okay for the trip and that my dh and kids are too! Thanks!

We're near Sacramento. We're picking DH up from work Friday at 3 and leaving straight from there. The only problem is this way I have to drag the kids out of bed at 6am to drive him to work! But it'll get us on the road 3 hours earlier since we wouldn't leave till after 6pm otherwise due to traffic.

Oh yeah traffic is no good. that is why we are leaving at night. We used to live in Vacaville and the drive from there wasn't too bad. so I am hoping from here isn't that bad either. After all its not that far away.

We'll be at DL for 5 days (leave Wednesday afternoon), then visiting family in San Diego for the holiday.

I sure wish I was packed! Have a test and an essay to write before I even think about packing. I know this week will fly by with ease as I'm sure I'll be packing right down to the minute on Thursday night! Super excited to go!

Funny you mention strep throat. One of my DS comes home from DL with strep each year - YIKES! And he's the oldest one too, so it is not like he sticks stuff in his mouth or anything.
