Is there ever any DIS meets in the central Pennsylvania area? I'm not talking about Pittsburg and Philadelphia area. I'm talking close to the Susquehanna River area.

Just wondering. Good idea?

Hmmmm. Don't know. But if there isn't, you can always start one. :) Just post about having a meet somewhere, like at a restaurant or food court in a town out that way and see who is in that area. :) I'm not sure how many are from Central Pa. It would be interesting to find out. :D

We had one in Harrisburg, at the Capital City Mall, about 2 years back. It was fun :)

Sounds like fun! I'm in South Central PA, so let me know when and where!:bounce:

Okay, so, let's say we try something like this. We live north of I-80. But we travel down to the Lancaster area a couple times of the year.

What would be a good time of the year and place that would be easy to find and that would be AFFORDABLE to meet at? I'm not talking McDonald's or Burger King but I know we all want to save our money for trips to WDW. So, something affordable would be best.

More input (additional or new) needed please.

If it's in the summer and we are not at WDW or the Jersey shore, Will and I could do Lancaster some weekend. We could meet at one the great area all-you-can-eat buffets. :p ;)

Melrosgirl -- I thought for sure you would be from Philly! "Everyone you know, goes to Melrose, everyone you know goes to Melrose ...." :p

How about Gettysburg? Is that too far? Is Lancaster easier or better? :D

Hershey?

LOL - nope - just a big fan of the old show, Melrose Place! ;)

Oh! LOL! :p

The Melrose is a fairly "famous" or popular diner in the heart of Philly. It has it's own little jingle that a lot of people from this area know. :p

DD goes to school in Lewisburg, right ON the Susquehanna River. I could send her my representative. :teeth:

Keep me updated too! I also live in Lancaster County. How about a sunday meet at Willow Valley Palm Court? I'm not sure of the exact price -- but it is under $20 pp. for the brunch buffet. Harrisburg or Hershey would work fine for me too. Just keep me posted!
:D

I am not a Pennsylvanian but, if you all met in Lancaster, that is only about an hour from where I am in Maryland. Can an outsider come? I will watch and see what you decide.

How about a meet at Leap the Dips? I think it's in Lakeside Park in Altoona, PA.

I'm not sure if I could attend, but I'd like to know what this coaster is like.

Ever heard of White Deer?

TO EVERYONE ELSE
Here's another thought on a location. How about Knoebel's ???

Hummm??? No cost to get in the park, no cost to park your car, wide variety of food at a wide variety of prices. Web site: http://www.knoebels.com/

Wide variety of rides. Lots of kiddie rides and several coasters.

Also, although this started as "All Pennsylvanian's???", no, it's not limited to just PA. If you're from Calif. and want to come, that's fine!

Also, Gettysburg is another fine suggestion. I'm just not sure how to handle it there. I've never done this before (can you tell?) and I originally was just asking. See what I get for opening my big mouth?

:jester:

I'll be at Knoebles a weekend in July if that works for anyone else? I think it is the 11th, 12th and 13th of July. We will have one of the big 16 person cabins rented. We have loads of fun up there with our extended families the same time every year. Let me know if anyone will be there the same time and you can come by our site for a 'doggie roast'!
:D

An "Altoona Area" native checking in:

Barry you can find an old picture of the "Leap The Dips"
on the Lakemont Park History page
at
www.lakemontparkfun.com/doc/his.html.
Just add a few buildings around it, and a fresh coat of paint
and it's what we have today.

We haven't been to Knoebel's in years...what a great park!! Lancaster would be much closer to where we live but Knoebel's could be very intriguing for a get-together.
