All packed up and ready to go.

Glad you've arrived safely Wayne - looking forward to updates whenever possible! Have a great time :)

Sounds like a new SatNav is in order ;)

Please to hear that the Holiday Inn LBV has nice rooms. Hope the one up beside Universal is similarly well appointed.

Look forward to further updates :)

You four - Dizzy is going too :goodvibes

Five, DMIL also:rotfl:
BOTH of these things occurred to me immediately after I posted, but my middle name isn't "Lazy" for nothing! :teeth:

Is this going to be your live reports thread, Waynio? I'm not very good with these running threads - all the checking back to where I left off becomes too much for my little brain - but I'll do my best. :upsidedow

Shh, don't tell anyone.:goodvibes

Arrived OK, flew US airways, a long time since we flew with them. Leg room not so great, not checked but seat pitch felt about 29-30", my knees touched seat infront and not easy getting legs under, staff OK, nothing special just did what they had to. Food not great but after flying a couple of times in Biz class its never going to be good in economy, we will eat before boarding going home. Flight from Philly to Tampa far better, lots of leg room and very pleasant staff. Had a proper steak philly sandwhich in Philly, shared with Dizzy who was hungry after not having a meal reserved on the plane, we had it loaded with onions, peppers & chilli sauce.
Leaving Tampa airport I took wrong turn, 15-16 mile before I could Uturn so ended up getting to hotel at 9pm. 1st impressions of hotel are good(holiday Inn express LBV) larger than average rooms, fridge, microwave, free wireless net, pool area looks nice, will try free brekkie in morning. Had a slight worry at check in, they only saw 1 room for us & fully booked, eventually found another booked in DMIL's name, no idea how as I booked both.
Looks like a nice day tomorrow at around 78F so airboat ride in morning, Port Canaveral in afternoon, a bit of Geocaching along the way and maybe Walmart to buy new Satnav.

oh no, poor dizzy must have had heartburn after that!!!

wrong turn out of the airport - i manage that every time...even though i say to myself "don't make a wrong turn" and then i do anyway....
how aggravating!!!
it must be the signs....i mean, it couldn't be me!!!

free internet sounds devine!!! i wish disney would join the modern age!!

i'm looking forward to food porn Wayne!!! (maybe some dizzy porn too ;) )

Already bought one today, it was the 1st thing on my shopping list for this trip, I knew my PDA maps were out of date with no more updates available.
I got this at £45 http://www.walmart.com/ip/TomTom-XL-335SE-4.3-GPS-Navigation-System/15173175

I will try post each evening but like tonight its now 11:30pm and I want to get off to Clearwater early tomorrow so won't be the usual updates with lots of pics. I think pics will have to wait til I get home.

Free net is great but this connection is not the best, very slow at times.

Forgot to say about the car collection yesterday from Alamo. Picked up 7 seater full size SUV. Got the usual at the desk "we don't have much in to choose from, can upgrade you to nice Chevy Tahoe for only $40/day." I declined so he said " I just found a great code on the system, letting me give you it for only $18.99/day" I declined. Went out to choose, he was correct not much choice, only 2 cars, I chose the Chevy Tahoe:rotfl:

Great day today, introduced Dizzy to Geocaching, he enjoyed a lot finding hidden caches all over. Then we did Boggy Creek airboat ride, totally different to last time, just as good. Drove over to Port canaveral ate at http://www.grillsseafood.com/ been twice before for drinks but 1st time for a meal, highly recommend but very busy, we had a 30 min wait for a table mid afternoon. Waved off all 3 cruise ships including Disney Dream, she looks amazing, can't wait for August to get onboard. This evening at Boardwalk then to Poly for Dole whip, thats all I could eat after the large late lunch.
Clearwater tomorrow.

Sounds like you're all having a great time (Dizzy too ;) ). Enjoy Clearwater today :)

I never thought about buying my own Sat Nav, what a great idea :thumbsup2

We usually rent one but that costs £5 or £6 per day :scared1:

A nice day out Wayne - and that restaurant looked pretty impressive. I am not a fan of seafood myself but am sure I could find something on the menu to choose from.
Enjoy Clearwater

same thing happened with alamo when i was there in june - they tried to get me to pay for the next size, because my size was too small....
turned out, the two sizes are in the very same row in the parking lot and you can choose from either (i asked the parking lot attendant just to be sure).....glad i didn't pay for the upgrade...

have fun in Clearwater!!

still waiting on pictures of dizzy in a speedo....

I am a fan of seafood but it is not a favourite of the rest of the family so I will enjoy your food p0rn :goodvibes

I love seafood but Karen and Matt don't, they like fish & chips or tinned tuna, nothing else out of the sea. One of main reasons I like cruising is so I can try different seafood dishes, if I don't like it there is plenty more things to eat but I usually like it.

Great trip to Clearwater today, only really went to take DMIL on little Toot dolphin boat, had a walk on the front and lunch at Frenchies. Really busy traffic for Presidents day but we didn't do too bad.
Just going to get ready for meal at House of Blues then hopefully meet Jill(Jockey)

Kenny, you might need a bigger hard drive to store all Dizzy's pics, especially if he comes in August as planned:goodvibes

Heres a few I have managed to get uploaded

GREAT pictures Wayne!!!!

but i hope you're taking dizzy for some exercise - with all that (yummy looking) food he's going to gain at least a stone while you're there!

Wow :worship: You feeel as if you could almost touch the Dream.

We really have to add a visit to CC for our summer visit :goodvibes

Ate at House of Blues this evening. There was a corperate event on so we were taken around the back to a smaller dining room, not quite what I expected it to be like but don't know if its different to the main dining room or the same.
We had res for 7pm, got seated at 7:20pm. not too bad. As we had to spend $100+($50 restaurant.com voucher) we decided to go for a starter(desserts can wait for DDP in Aug) buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dip, delicious, really spicy, $11
Entrees, Karen and her Mum had Rosemary Chicken, $19 both enjoyed, I had Seafood Jambalaya, best I have ever had. $18, Matt had ribeye steak, I actually got to taste some as he couldn't eat it all, very nice steak and very tender, $25. 3 diet cokes, $3.25 each & a Bud $4.
Total $105.75
Less $50
= £55.75
Auto 18% grat $19.04
Tax $6.94
Total to pay $81.73
As with many restaurants within Disney I probably would not pay the regular prices but the Restaurant.com voucher makes it great value.
Service was spot on so would probably have left 18% anyway.
I told the server I had a voucher and she said "Restaurant.com, great" without even seeing it. More than happy to take it. I assume they like getting the 18% included.
Change of plan tomorrow, Universal instead of St Augustine, have a rest from driving.
Pics of the food.

Looks like you had a great meal. We've got a Restaurant.com voucher to use there at Xmas.

I am very tempted by House of Blues and restaurant.com combination.
Steak or Jambalaya, a difficult choice :rolleyes1
