Hey Guys!

So, my husband and I are planning and "all out trip" to Disneyland. We go there a few times a year but lately- have only been staying at motel 6 and such...

Come February (Thank you AP8 rates!) We're staying in a park-view room at the Grand (he's never stayed there before!!).

My question(s):
1. Has anyone gone to the Manadara Spa? What are your thoughts?
2. Where is the better character breakfast? Goofys Kitchen or Storytellers.

I think thats it... *woo!*

That's great!

I have not gone to the spa yet but have stayed at GCH twice - love it! My third stay is supposed to be in December - not sure if it is happening, though!

I strongly, strongly prefer Goofy's for breakfast over Storyteller's (and actually over many of the other restaurants in DLR) for a variety of reasons (been eating there for 16 years), BUT there are many other folks on here who adore Storyteller's for a character meal, as well the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Everyone has very valid reasons why they like the different restaurants so it is hard to choose! There are a lot of Ariel's and Minnie's fans, too! I am going to make a point of trying Minnie's and Lilo and Stitch in the future, but I will always squeeze in one meal at Goofy's!!!

Have a great time!!!

Haven't done the spa...if I am at DLR the last thing on my mind is a spa lol

Since you are already going to be at GCH I would do storytellers as it would save you time. I like both storytellers and goofys and since you dont have children who may not recognize the characters at GCH I would choose that one. :)

DH and I visited the spa on our anniversary trip this past September. It was very nice but very spendy. We had a couples massage one day and the next day we had manicures. I think you will pay at least twice what it would cost to do somewhere in your home town. We did get tea service and a bottle of massage oil included in the price. But they also tack on a hefty service charge on top of tipping. It was nice to do (DH booked it for us) but I think I would skip it next time or do it for cheaper at home.
As far as Storytellers vs. Goofys kitchen, depends what you want. If its lots of characters go to Goofys, but I think the food is better at Storytellers. I also felt like it was a little less hectic at storytellers, less kids. Have fun!

I don't know about Storytellers, but we did Goofy's last week and wow it was awesome, Goofy makes Creme Brulee French Toast that is heavenly. The characters were great and the food awesome especially the Creme Brulee French Toast it is to die for!

We loved our stay at the GC. The room was wonderful and the location can't be beat. We haven't been to the spa or Storytellers though.

We really liked Goofy's Kitchen. The kids had a great time. We have never had the Creme Brulee french toast. That sounds absolutely wonderful!

Goofy's also serves peach and apple cobbler in the shape of Mickey (the crusty part is Mickey-shaped)! My friend ate it and loved it! She also recommends highly the biscuits and gravy and the croissants, but I usually stick to the fruit (which is awesome - fresh and tasty), eggs, bacon and sometimes potatoes (which are great). They also serve delicious mini-muffins! It is a great spread that Goofy's buffet. My other non-breakfast eating friends were delighted to find lox to eat. There is a wide variety of choices - more of a variety than at the other buffets.
