All of WDW on DVD

The basics, are that it is an eighteen dvd set, including the special Disneyland disc. The usual non-sale price is $250, I bought it on sale for $150, minus a 10% discount from WDW Trivia. It is now at a higher sale price of $180.

After much anticapation, I finally recieved my set in the mail. I ordered the lowest shipping available, which was 4 - 14 days, and got it on Sat, when it was shipped that Tues.

The discs themselves were in seperate paper sleves, not cases. Which isn't an issue to me, since I keep all of my dvd's in a wallet. There is virtually no disc art, but each disc is labeled with what park(s) is included on that disc, and also which attractions.

The way the attractions are divided between the discs are a little confusing, since all of the parks are mixed up on discs on what seems to be a completely random order. I've ended up making a list of what's on each disc, so I don't have to get it out of the player every time I want to see what's on it.

The chapters, as stated in a previous post, are every five minutes, and aren't seperated by attraction. Also, each disc seems to start and stop randomly.

The quality varies. The sound, for the most part, is excellant. I've played discs on three separate players, the family's tv, my personal tv, and the computer's dvd drive. And the dvd plays in all, which are all region one.

The video itself, ranges anywhere from good to excellant. At some points it's very clear, with great shots, but at a few points it gets shaky, or blocked by heads / bodies. Which would be expected, since these are fan made, and at some points there are crowds, most notably at Magic Kingdom.

Also, this was taped around Christmas time, so during the resort walkthroughs, all of the Christmas decorations are up, and during certain attractions, it has the holiday theme going.

Also, the person taping does seem to have a good fan-eye, and zooms in on things like hidden Mickeys. It also goes through the queues, and I think that's nice to be included.

I'll list each disc, along with the contents and quality seperatly. (I'll edit this as I view more attractions.) Also, I've found that the list of included attractions at the website isn't 100% accurate. It lists Space Mountain, but either I can't find it, (it isn't listed on the discs,) or it wasn't included. On the flipside though, Tower of Terror isn't listed on the site, but is included.

Overall, it is a very good set, and I would of bought it for the attractions alone. But the resort walkthroughs are good for planning, though I doubt I'll watch them much.

I would reccomend it, for people like me, who I'm sure most DISer's are, that don't get to go to WDW often, (I'm lucky with one trip a year,) and yearn to see the shows more often.

Personally, when I got the dvd's, the first thing I decided to watch, was Cinderellabration, which I fell in love with last Oct. I was so happy to be able to see it again, since a little more then a weke ago I thought I may never see it again. It brought tears to my eyes.

Some of the attractions, like Soarin, are much better in person, obviously, but I still enjoyed being able to watch it. Okay, and being able to pause it to find a hidden Mickey. :goodvibes But, there are some good points to the effects being missing. For instance, I'm terrified of bugs, and have never exactly loved the special effects in It's Tough to Be a Bug, but watching it lasy night knowing that nothing would be shot out, sprayed, or would smell was a comfort to me. So this could be used as a tool for children as far as fright factors go, since most of the thrill rides are on here. Also, there's no lines or schedules to follow, so it makes it easy to escape into whatever I want to.

Any questions, please ask. I'll be sure to add anything else I can think of. I hope my review can clear up any questions any DISer's have about these dvds.

Where did you see this? Is this an official release? If not - can you point me in the right direction to check this out?
Sounds very intriguing.

Also, the 10% discount offer expires on the 24th, so I highly suggest that anyone interested takes a look at that in the next few days.

I am actually surprised Disney's predatory copyright lawyers haven't jumped on this yet. They're not fun to deal with, and they seem to have their slimy tentacles everywhere.

Some questions about the set:

What is the running time for each disc?
Are they pressed or burned discs?
If the latter, are they DVD-5 or DVD-9 media?

I was trying to figure out if it was some kind of copyright violation to. Each disc runs anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, depending on what's on what.

For instance, even though MGM disc two only has three attractions, it runs about an hour an twenty minutes. One only runs about forty-five minutes but I forget which one that is, sorry. Not sure what the difference is between pressed and burned, sorry.

Also, for copyright info, all it says, on each disc, in very pale ink, is - This is a fan produced dvd comprimised of amateur vacation footage. All Disney names, icons, trademarks, etc. are copyright Disney.

As much as I love the dvd's, I'm glad I bought mine when I did, since I have a feeling that Disney might be able to stop Relive the Magic from selling these sooner or later. I mean, there trying to push the Happiest Celebration DVD set, which I'll porbably end up buying too, but this is complete footage of virtually every attraction.

Thank you. Basically, pressed DVDs are professionally produced and somewhat more durable than burned DVDs, which are home made in a standard DVD burner.
DVD-5 are single-layer media than can hold something like 4.6 GB of data, whereas DVD-9 media have two layers and hold 8.7 GB (roughly - my figures may be off slightly).

Space Mountain is included, though not listed on the discs, it's right before the Adventures of Pooh. Also, for Tower of Terror, just the pre-show (the scene in the library with the video,) and queue is included, and not the full ride.

Here's something else I noticed. I'm going to use the Epcot and MGM disc as an example. It lists the rides that are on the disc, but after watching Tower of Terror, and knowing Voyage of the Little Mermaid was following, continued to let it play, (I'd been skipping around from disc to disc,) I was pleasantly suprised at the amount of walk-through material there is. While some might call this "filler," I was able to see the streets, and inside some of the shops, including one of my favorites Villians in Vouge.

how do you access the 10% off from wdwtriava.com do you have to win a trivia contest?

No, there's just a code. I think it's WDWTRIVIA, but I'm not sure.

Wow, this sounds great. I have a quick question, though...is it filmed as someone is actually walking...like, is the camera shaky? I get very nauseated while watching home movies because of the shaky camera work.

I have seen some of the excerpt from my google video. They seem to have "leaked" some of their stuff out there so that people like me can get a taste and then REALLY want to buy it... smart move if you ask me. So the point I am trying to make is that if your really interested in seeing the quality yourself go to Google, then click More, then video (lower left side), type in Disney and just flip throught the pages.... you'll find them with the relivethemagic.com labels as well as alot of other interesting things as well. I have seen the full Cinderellabration, my daughter asks for it daily now. As well as a whole bunch of other stuff. good luck... I hope they can continue to do this... my only problem is that I didn't think of it first!! :confused3

I didnt buy this set but just a vhs awhile back and I enjoyed it, Im so lazy so my own videos are very brief. I'll buy a camcorder for the trip and end up taking it out 1 or 2 times, when I get home I wish id done more.
Id like to buy these or some on ebay,
I didnt care for disneys dvds, they lack original sound so I find that irritating.
And mr scintific eeewwwww:)
But I was yelled at for buying a pirated movie on another board so im wondering can you get in trouble for buying this type of thing like people did when they downloaded music?

I'm starting to wonder about copyright information, and such. I sent them, Relive the Magic, an e-mail, asking about the copyright and release information. I'll post here on what I find out.

just a quick FYI, the online store at laughingplace.com has it much cheaper

Tigerlaw-I did a search at laughingplace.com but couldn't find it. if you find it, could you post a link please? How much do they sell it for?

Ok, also, I went to google.com and found all the WDW videos. I downloaded a macromedia player, but I could not watch the videos...the screen came up and kept saying "no connection" and it kept attempting to connect but it never did, even though I waited HOURS. Now I am jonesin' to watch Wishes. Any suggestions? I have dial up...am I just out of luck?
