Has anyone gotten ALL their hair braided? If so, is it still $1/braid? How many braids did it take to do all your hair? And how many hours at that? One more question...did you like it...or would you rather just have the front part done if you got it braided again? I think it would be awfully neat to have all of it braided...but I'd like someone else's opinion...I'm just not sure if it's worth it or not...please help...

My daughters had all of their hair braided. It took 2 hours for both with two girls helping each other out. They had an average of about 60 braids. We paid 120 for both heads. Not sure if that is a lot or not but we felt it was a decent price for the work done. It stayed in for 4 weeks before it started to fray. Then we took everything but the crown out( which looked cool too) and that stayed in another 3 weeks. We did change the beads a few times though as they started to get grungy looking after going from shower to ocean to pool. Ti seems like the majority of the braids are in the crown so they can probably get you for the same amount. I believe it is $1 a braid for the whole head and $2 a braid for eveything else. I would definately try to negotiate a flat rate before they start though

Thanks for the info...I really think I want to get my whole head braided...I've had just the crown part braided before when I went to Playa del Carmen, and that was OK...I really want something different=) $60 is actually a very good price considering the amt. of work. I'm assuming you had it done on the ship? Did your girls like the way it turned out? And did they have long thick hair? (sorry so many questions...just want to make sure since i'll be spening $60 or so on it)...Thanks for your help =)

We went in August and they were not doing it on the ship. One duaghter has long think hair the other shorter but not short thin hair. We had it done on St Marteen at Great Bay Beach ( the one you take the water ferry over to for $5 all day). The girl who did it was named Elizabeth. She was wonderful- very gentle with the girls. They loved it. She had a booth near the shops. It seemed like a business they had going there rather than just the girls walking around the beach. Also she took us into a building( kind of scary at first) but at least we were not in the hot sun the whole time. We did this as soon as we got off the ship to get it out of the way.
Enjoy your cruise. I think it is more expensive on the ship BUT it is done at sea so it may be worth the money.

On the boat and on Castaway Cay it is $1 for every braid and $2 for every corn row. I had the corn rows w/ complete braid done on the crown of my head, and was 21 braids. It cost me $63 dollars. ($3 for corn row & braid together) If you're thinking about getting your whole head and don't want to spend an enormous chunk of money, ask for the braids to be a little thicker than the normal ones, and don't get corn rows.

If I decide to get it done on the ship, where do I go to sign up for an appointment...and will they even do the whole head since it's so time consuming? I'm guessing that they will if I'm willing to pay for it...just curious though. Dis4me said it took about 2 hours for each other her daughter's to get it done...but I've read other places that it can take up to 5 hours to do...I suppose it all depends on who's doing them. Has anyone else had them done...if so, how long did it take?
