he's always been great about eating whatever I make and now all of a sudden he's turning his nose up at everything! He's 12 (next month) but he does have some issues. Anyway- it's wreaking havoc on my grocery budget! How do you deal with this?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean...
Do you mean all he wants is junk food or he wants like organic or Vegan food or something weird?
But I would just buy what you usually buy, as long as you have healthy choices for him.
He won't starve. He will eat when he get hungry enough...
I let my kids pick a few items on the grocery list as long as they are healthy.
Like what kind of NOT sugary cereal or what kind of fruit.

I agree with the previous poster. At 12 (assuming you mean years and not months), he's old enough and hopefully healthy enough that he won't starve himself. If he's hungry, he'll find something to eat from your usual groceries. If he wants something very specific and special and expensive, perhaps he can do something extra around the house to earn it.

No preteenage boy ever starved himself to death because of food preferences.

Some of my kids are picky, some aren't, but if you once liked a certain food, you are not allowed to not like it. If you've always hated brocolli, you don't have to eat it. However, if you used to like it, you're going to eat it.
