All night Magic Kingdom party

Uh-oh. When Disney has done this in the past, we weren't there and I was spared. Just saw the announcement that Magic Kingdom will be open 24 straight hours on May 23rd. I know I'm going to get dragged there for a "gotta-do-it" "once-in-a-lifetime" endurance test. I've already received a very excited text about it.

First, I can't remember the last time I was at a rope drop, much less in a park at 6am.

Second, I'm normally pretty grumpy and ready to head back to the room after 5 or 6 hours in the park. What am I going to be like after 24?

And third, I haven't done an all-nighter since 1987 when I graduated college.

Oh, and to top it all off, we're apparently going to be dressing up as characters, too.

With the hub construction, I predict CHAOS...and chaos for the Halloween and Christmas parties.

Last year, it sounded like the best time was the ending 2am -close

It would be interesting to ride the people mover ~4am when they have space mountain closed with all lights on for daily maint.

I didn't know about this... but that's the final day of our Disney trip!!! Now if I can manage to keep my mom and 8 year old awake (I know! Lots of Dole Whips and Mickey bars! That'll do the trick! We can always sleep on the flight home!)

what happens after the close at 6AM on the 24th? does MK reopen at 8 or 9AM that day? if so, that might be the best time to go, when everyone's to bed.

We arrive at 10:10 AM on the 23rd. We will check in to the resort and probably have some down time at the pool before heading to MK in the afternoon. I'm not sure if we'll make it til 6:00 AM.

DD and DS heard the news yesterday and already planned their costumes - Lilo and Stitch!

We arrive on May 23rd and have already planned on going to Epcot (we have dinner ADRs at Teppan Edo). When I first heard about this 24 hour party, I thought wow that would be fun and how cool would it be to ride rides and walk around MK at 3am. That was until my DH reminded me that I was not going to be the only one thinking that same thing. So, we all decided (kids included) that since the park is going to be insanely crowded that day/night, that we will just stick with our original plans (there is also evening EMH at Epcot). And since it is also SWW that weekend, I am hoping that Epcot's crowds will be very light because as it stands now, we plan on heading to Epcot for dinner (our ADRs are for 7pm), watch Illuminations, and then just stay in WS and just walk around and enjoy the sights. Now that SWW and this 24 hour party is going on, I told DH that we should skip out on WS and head over to FW and take advantage of the rides....in hopes that the park isn't as crowded .

Hmmm, that is a great question and I would love to know the answer to this as well.

Bummed; we were scheduled to go then, but had to delay our trip due to so many snow days this year.

Yes, the park day for May 23rd ends at 6:00am on May 24. The park day for May 24th opens at 9:00am.

Friends & I already have reservations for that weekend, we were planning for Star Wars Weekend. We will attend part of 24 hours, could never last the whole thing!

I totally got talked into going to this. I'm looking forward to it but I have the same concerns you do!

We fly into Orlando Thursday after work (omg) ... and then we plan on doing Epcot during the day on Friday, take a nap, and MK at night... and fly home 9:30 AM Saturday morning.. back to NY.

Less than 48 hours total... my darling spouse has some pressing need to see the Castle at 4AM.

We planned to do EMH at 7:00 AM at AK on 5/24. The party even though we likely won't make it all night, could prevent us getting up early 5/24.

Just do an "EEMH" at MK from 4-6am, followed the 7am EMH at AK

I'm flying in on Thursday to partake in this event and flying out Sunday evening. My plan is to do the most I can...possibly the whole 24 but probably napping in the middle of the day at the resort and doing at LEAST 18 of 24! Really excited I was able to get in to SSR after this had been announced!

That may be tough with only a one hour break! I typically say I don't need sleep at WDW, but this could be pushing the limits. Good thing we're heading to Vero for a relaxing beach stay after WDW!
