My fiance is in the market for a new camera. He is looking at either a Canon G10 or Nikon D5000 (the old D90). Does anyone have any feedback on either camera or recommendations? We aren't sure if the SLR is worth carrying around the parks. (And we all know that is what the camera's primary use will be ) We hoped some users would be able to help us make the decision. Thanks!

Well, I don't know anything about the Nikon, but my Dad has a Canon G9 and he absolutely loves it! It is a great camera.

He is cute, isn't he! It was getting pretty late, for him. He was probably thinking, "This is a nice soft place to go to sleep." He's my little cuddly guy.

Just for the record the D5000 is not a replacement for the D90. Click on the links to find more info on each camera. Both are great cameras. You can't go wrong with either one.
