I'm so upset right now but can't really change anything. I planned our entire vacation all by myself. DH did nothing to help me out on this. This is our First time to disney.

Well anyway..... I booked our flights back in Jan for our April trip. I booked a return flight for 9:50AM and that means DME will pick us up at 6:50am. What a way to end vacation being on such an early flight!!
I tried to change it but it will cost us way to much money!
I'm so upset......... Any suggestions!

Don't be upset. You probably booked the 9:50a flight because it had lower fares than the later flights. Some airlines will let you change with a small change fee the day before. Check your airline you might be able to make a change for a reasonable fee the day before. SW does not have that policy.

Thank you we are flying AirTran and they will let us change but, you have to pay the difference in fare and its really expensive.

Of all the things that could go wrong on a vacation, having an early flight is really not something to get yourself upset about. It's your first time at Disney-ENJOY!! It will be great. There are good points about getting home at a decent time, too. Just remember those.

Skip the DME on the return, get the price of a cab at the time you want to check-out, I'm thinking $35 - $50. BTW, we had a 6 am pickup via Tiffany at the Swan this month and didn't find this to be any problem.

The airlines sometimes limit their lowest fares to their least popular flight times. The people with 7:00 a.m. flights have DME pickup times around 4:00 a.m. At least you're leaving almost three hours later than people with 7:00 a.m. flights.

If you want an extra half hour of sleep, you could book a towncar and still arrive at the airport two hours before your scheduled departure (which is a good idea at Orlando Airport).

I would rather go to bed a half hour earlier and save the price of the towncar. I would take DME. I would plan on eating breakfast at the airport.

Be sure to allow plenty of time for the security screening at MCO. It can take 5 minutes or 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the waits seem to be running at the higher of the scale.

Enjoy your vacation... and be glad you don't have a 7:00 a.m. flight.

Look at the positive. You'll be back home sooner, with more time to relax. At least you didn't book the wrong day... :)

We all learn from our mistakes. It's happened to all of us at one time or another. :thumbsup2

Thanks for everyone responses. It's true it could be a lot worse. I have heard that Airtran does change their flights a lot so maybe we will be lucky and get a later flight.

Thanks for all your help!!

That's true. I was reading recently here about someone who accidentally booked their flights backwards. That would be really bad!

I think that was me!!! I did that but on Southwest and they let me change it online with the travel center. I try to fly them all the time. For my May trip, I just changed my return flight to a later time and saved 150 dollars and have a credit on the return flight.

I better go check that I did that right!! :scared: :scared:

I would save the money and take DME. The lines at MCO have become HORRIBLE. (Apparently they have forgotton how to screen!) I am a pro at late arrivals and even I am arriving at MCO over two hours in advance.... (I arrive at ATL one hour in advance, so WHY does it take an hour longer at MCO???) So either way you will be leaving pretty early.

I'm so glad to hear it worked out for you!! :thumbsup2 I'm always so paranoid to hit the "purchase" button for things like this because I worry I didn't notice some kind of mistake.
