All my old magic bands are showing active in MDE. How do I fix this?

I'm afraid once I go to link my tickets, it'll go to the wrong ones.

No need to do anything.

They can ALL work just fine.

You do NOT link tickets to any particular MB.
You can use any new ones that are coming -AND-
you can just pick one or two (or more) of your older ones... and use them all, interchangeably.

Really? But what would be the point of using them all? Sorry, I must be having a blonde moment. :)

You'd only use one at a time, but let's say Monday you want to wear your blue one, Tuesday your pink one, Wednesday your red one. Maybe you just feel like mixing it up. Maybe you're matching them to your outfit that day. Whatever the reason, you could do this.

You don't HAVE to use any but the newest ones, if you prefer.

It just doesn't matter.

BTW, there is a place in your MDE account to deactivate any MBs that you don't want to use at all.
(But, there is no reason to worry about it.)

If you wish, you can deactivate any that you don't want anymore, then turn them in to the front desk next time you check in, and they can be recycled.

I remember there being talk that the technology would start to expire after about 2 years. I also heard that if you have too many bands linked to your name it could cause glitches and people were being told by CMs to deactivate old bands. For these reasons I went ahead and deactivated my old bands since I have 2 new ones for my recent/upcoming stays. Did I jump the gun or was that a good move? LOL!

The battery is supposedly only good for about 2 years, but the battery is pretty much only necessary for ride photos.

Yes, the part of the band that is the tracking device is active (not the passive NFC portion), and uses a battery. Life should be a couple of years. I wonder if Disney will just deactivate the bands soon so they (Disney) can keep the tracking/data mining function using newer bands.

I checked all my bands this week. Only the oldest used, the grey one handed me when we checked in and I couldn't find the one sent to me, in early 2013, would not open the door to the room.

All the rest worked beautifully.

I now have 13 active bands and haven't had a problem. They tried to make up a problem the other day but given that the band she was questioning had just gotten me through the resort gates, I just smiled and nodded.

My old tickets still show up as active on MDE, I assume that's not a problem as we've entered ok with the new ones since the old ones have been used up. I assume if we were to get MBs sometime in the future then it'd not try to use used up tickets. How do you prioritize?

The old "tickets" are used up. The system isn't going to try to use them. It will use the live tickets.

Since your other thread said, I think, that you're going to try to have two sets of tickets on each person's profile, you will *have to* go to guest services BEFORE entering a park and have THEM prioritize them.

But they might not even be tickets you're seeing. I have all sorts of random cards on my account, and we haven't had anywhere near that many APs (I think only two years did we have them).

The *cards* on my account, I deactivated. I don't have them, never did, and don't know what they are.

Re using old bands: AFAIK there's no way to test the battery, so if you want your ride photos check your PhotoPass account daily. If some are missing after a couple of days, you may need to stop using that band (and file a "Missing Photos" report with the PhotoPass folks!).
