All My Children fans

Just out of curiousity-Do any of you guys read "Good Housekeeping"? There is a contest they are having-You send in a postcard and the winner gets a day on the set of All My Children and lunch with their favorite star. Have any of you done that?

:D OMG! The Gilligan's Island fantasy was HILARIOUS! :D I'm surprised (and grateful!) that Ditsie didn't worm her way into it. :p

What is it about Greenlee and deserted islands that compels men to declare their love for her?!? LOL!

No Ditsie today and only 6 more days to go!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Lisa - they don't show Mateo bonking his head on the previews today. I was watching on tape yesterday and replayed it a few times. :D :p

pnelson - I don't read Good Housekeeping but that sounds like a cool contest! I wonder if there is info about it on their website? Think I'll go check...

Hi All!:D What happened today, as usual, I had to work! I will be able to watch the show on Thursday, and thats It for the week! Yesterdays show was good, but I did not see Mateo and the sink meet!;)

Oh, Poohbear - you missed the Gilligan's Island fantasy! :( Do you have SoapNet? You really need to watch it!

And it wasn't the sink Mateo bonked his head on - it was the TOILET! LOL! :D :p

OMG! The Gilligan's Island fantasy was sooo hilarious!! I was LOL the whole time!! :D :D :D :D

Hmm...I might have to go buy a Good Housekeeping mag to check out that contest! :D

The island fantasy was so well done IMHO. I enjoyed every minute.

Hello ladies!!

Well I knew I would do it and I did.....forgot to record yesterdays show! I remembered just as I walked inside the gates of Busch Gardens. I was so mad at myself.

I watched today and like the Gilligans Island scenes, kinda funny. So glad to see that Mateo had a vest on and did not get stabbed. I like Maggie, I hope she nails Vanessa and gets her good!!!!

Pooh- I am not sure which one I am missing, will have to look when I go home. I know that I have the MK one.

Ditsie - I saw somewhere that her last airdate was the 24th???? That would be so much better!!! :)

Christine - the sooner the better! :D

pnelson - as I was hunting for the website where I read Ditsie's last airdate was the 27th (with no luck) I stumbled onto this site that I thought might interest you. ;)

Jack Scalia - Tall, Dark & Handsome

Ooh la la! Check out those pin-up shots! :D (Once in the website, click on "biography" and then at the bottom of the page is a link for "pin-ups".)

Oh, Baby! Will Tad Find Out Dixie's Secret?

Although it is the news that Tad and Dixie fans have longed to hear--a baby is on the way--the catch is that Cady McClain is about to exit AMC. Will Tad's pregnant wife leave him in the dark? It's the storyline twist that has viewer's talking.

The In Depth Story: When McClain announced last fall that she was going off contract, it came at a time when Tad (again) had infuriated his wife by inviting psycho Leslie Coulson back into their lives. As such, fans assumed that, at some point, Dixie would just retreat to Pigeon Hollow to facilitate her portrayer's departure.

AMC executive producer Jean Dadario-Burke and headwriter Richard Culliton, however, entertained bigger, bolder plans, an exit story that would dare to broach a hot-button topic: that is, the elusive Tad and Dixie baby for which fans have longed for since Dixie's August 1999 miscarriage.

Now, as McClain's final air date, Wednesday, February 27, nears, the question lingers: Before she leaves, will Dixie tell Tad about their baby? A Very Special Goodbye Since McClain asked that Dixie not be killed off (so that the actress has the option of returning someday), Burke and her staff put on their thinking caps to fashion a fitting farewell. "Cady loves us, and we love her, so her leaving was a difficult choice," notes the AMC boss. "But she feels like she needs to go, at least for a little bit, if not for good." "So I thought, if the fans know that it is her choice," Burke continues, "shouldn't we give them something to really hope for?" Will McClain Return?

Enter headwriter Culliton's brainstorm to have Dixie be pregnant--yet conceal the news from Tad as she prepares to leave for Europe. "This is not any old walk-in-the park good bye," says Burke. "I told Cady that we would give her a decent send-off, and I'm pleased that it's this big a send-off! Although it's not big, dramatic fireworks, it promises big story for her, should she come back!" McClain, for her part, should be pleased with Dixie's condition. "It's a great idea! Let's have a baby!" she once said of the idea. "A couple that has loved each other this long deserves to leave a piece of themselves behind."

For those of you who still like Ditsie - you're welcome for me not providing a running commentary throughout that disgusting article I just posted. ;) I was oh so tempted! :D The only part I liked was the last air date part. :D :p

ONLY 6 MORE DAYS!!!

Oops, have I already posted the countdown for the day?!?!? :o So sorry! :D :p ;)

Aprille: LOL! I was thinking the same thing!   I hope she does NOT come back to the show for a VERY LONG time!:o Oops! Did I say that??!!;)

Hey everyone!

Thanks for posting that article, Aprille - very interesting! And thanks for the information about the contest, PNelson!

I also loved that "Gilligan's Island" dream, yesterday - it was done beautifully and it was a great idea! They all did such a great job! I also enjoyed watching Maggie figure out Frankie's message about Vanessa - very clever! I was wondering when Bianca was going to notice that she'd left her book of sonnets behind, though! I also enjoyed seeing Jake declaring his love for Greenlee - poor Mia. I wonder if she realizes where Jake is and really thinks that he sailed off into the sunset without her, even though she's been harrassing him about sailing away with her and quitting his job every day!

Have a nice day! :)

Lisa - Maggie put both sonnet books into Bianca's bag in front of her. When Bianca turned her back she pulled them back out and hid them behind her back until Bianca left. So Bianca thinks she has both books.

Here's the contest scoop which I also found on Scoops@VanessaSmith.com.Pretty good info on this site. Check it out! :)
This may be old news, but I just bought the March 2002 issue of Good Housekeeping, with Kelly Ripa on the cover. I haven't had a chance to read the whole article yet. But, they are having a contest, and the winner and a guest, will get round-trip airfare to New York City, luxury hotel accommodations, plus lunch with one of the AMC stars. The winner will also get a tour of the show's set, attend a taping, and meet members of the cast. One entry per person, to enter, send a postcard with your name, address, and telephone number to: Good Housekeeping/All My Children Contest, P.O. Box 1737, Sandusky, OH 44871-1737.

Thanks, Aprille, for the Jack Scalia info. I actually stumbled on his website a few weeks back. I even sat in on a chat he had a couple of weeks ago. (First time I've ever done anything like that!). And I also joined his fan club. I think I may be his only fan-I got a hand addressed, hand stamped thank you!

Is anyone else sending in a postcard? I can't imagine going if I won-I would be way to nervous!!

I picked up a copy of GH this morning and here is all the vital info:

I didn't know GH was out of Sandusky....that is like 30 minutes from me! LOL

I hope today's show is as good as the last 2 shows.

Thanks for the info, Aprille! And thanks for setting me straight about what actually happened with Maggie, Bianca, and the sonnet books - I must have been in a daze by the time that yesterday's episode ended (after seeing the surreal Gilligan's Island portions!) not to have noticed that Maggie took the books out of Bianca's bag!

UH OH!! DITSIE IS ON TODAY!!!
Man is she!!! GAG ME!!! I'm not sure I can stomach 5 more days of this. :p Especially with her impending return hovering over our heads. I hope she stays away for at least a couple of years. (20 would be better! :D ;) :p )

Luckily DH and I are heading out of town tomorrow for a long getaway weekend so I won't be subjected to watching live for the next couple of days. :p

Ditsie countdown:
