So they turned Babe's room into a room that looks just like the hospital? GIVE ME A BREAK!!

Yep, she started freaking out when the nurse was in plain clothes (she was wearing all black). Josh got there in time to settle Babe down. He handed his credit card (or maybe a business card) over to the nurse and told her to buy what they needed to make it look like a hospital room.

But I was wondering how they built the wall and painted without disturbing the patient???? It would be easy to roll equipment into the space, even move her to a hospital bed, but renovate?????

Leave it to Erica to ruin everything. Babe is going to find out tomorrow.

Here's an interesting article.

Megan McTavish Fired as AMC's Head Writer

Though it has been rumored for many, many months, ABC has confirmed that Megan McTavish has been fired as head writer of All My Children. The dismissal is effective immediately, but the show has not yet named a successor to the Emmy-winning scribe.

"This was a difficult decision. Megan came in at a crucial time for All My Children," Brian Frons, President, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group said in a statement. "We appreciate her vision and thank her for all her contributions."

McTavish's firing may start celebration among All My Children fans. While AMC's ratings have risen in recent weeks, the show hovered at or near record low ratings only several months ago. During this time fans have been critical of many of the scribe's major story undertakings. It is the very vision - or perhaps lack thereof -- that Frons cited that has had viewers up in arms. Among McTavish's missteps as head writer are, in the eyes of fans, the poorly penned exits of some of the show's big name talents, a lack of innovative storylines and ill-conceived plot payoffs.

The panned storylines McTavish penned for All My Children follow a pattern of decidedly dark storylines that fans have criticized during her reign at other soaps. For weeks viewers were forced to watch Dr. Greg Madden buried alive in a coffin and during the Christmas season a serial killer stalked the women of Pine Valley. While fans were riveted at the idea that anyone could be picked off by the so-called Satin Slayer, they were not pleased with the killing of Dixie Martin or the killer's identity - the supposedly dead Alexander Cambias, Sr.

Megan McTavish was named head writer of All My Children in May 2003. Her installation as top scribe was not her first go around in the position; she served previously as head writer from 1992 to 1995 and then again from 1997 to 1999.

"I am thrilled to welcome Megan back to ABC Daytime," Frons said in 2003 when announcing her rehiring. "Her extensive history with All My Children, coupled with her exciting ideas for the show, make her the right fit to take over the helm of the writing team at a time when AMC is venturing into new and uncharted territory."

Despite the criticism, McTavish has been critically lauded for her work on All My Children. During her tenure with AMC, the show has earned three Daytime Emmy wins for Outstanding Writing. Those wins came in 1996, 1997 and 1998. The 1997 win was shared with The Young and the Restless.

ABC has yet to name a replacement for McTavish, though some insiders are speculating that someone already on the show's writing staff will be elevated to the top position.

Interesting..................but they are correct about the dark storylines, some good characters being written out & the way the storylines have gone (ie. Alex Cambias coming back from the dead)

Hopefully the next head writer will bring something exciting to the show.

I think she must have started writing for herself and not the fans that follow the show...it often appears to me it's the fans that these writers forget about. Many of us who have watched the show from day one and actually know what has happened. I guess they are giving her the heave ho..before AMC gets the heave ho...because it is SO dumb lately I wouldn't be surprised by that either.:sad2: The latest storyline being the Cambias murderer....COME ON! The monotonous repetitive, did I say repetitive...story of Babe/Jr/..Babe/Jr.

auntie I couldn't agree with you more.

Oh as for Fusion ummmmm no I don't think anyone is running it!

I wonder how they will be able to "get themselves out of" these bad, dead-end storylines and back to better writing? I hope that they just end this "Satin Slayer" thing as quickly as they ended the Greg Madden thing........and just MOVE ON to some more "realistic" storylines, dealing with real people and relationships and families and friendships - things that we can relate to!

I was really afraid that Kendall was going to go along with Alex's "request" to dump Zach and get back together with Ryan........and then we'd have to endure watching her try to worm her way back into Ryan's life and get rid of Annie........only to break his heart all over again when he found out that she only did it to save Zach's life.........at least it looks like they're not going to play that out.......... I just hope that Zach shoots Alex today, then everyone can go home and declare Pine Valley "safe"........and everyone can move on with their lives! :)

(By the way, I don't believe all of JR's newfound sentimental drivel - ie: "IF I ONLY HAD ONE MORE CHANCE WITH BABE......" - one bit! Of course he will try to win her back when he finds out that she's alive........)

oh me too! i was just rolling my eyes when i thought of how awful it was going to be!!

wooohoo about Trish, it's not good to be fired, but i was getting soo tired of the storylines!
DisneyMommyMichelle.........I wanted to say congrats! I read on the Moms To Be Thread that you are expecting your third!!!

I lurk over there, although I don't know why, my 3 are now teens & that's it for us!!! I guess I just like to see all the new babies when people post their pics - they're all so cute & adorable!

Anyway, Congratulations!!!

Michelle congratulations, that's wonderful.

Now that Bianca has asked Zoe not to go to Baltimore to see the specialist how much to you want to make a bet either Jeff or Josh will not be transgender specialists and do the surgery.
