I agree. I barely watch the show at all. Just flip and watch for a minute then turn to something else. It's sooo blah right now! Just not keeping my interest :confused3 . I'm more into One Life to Live now. I see why AMC's rating have severly dropped. Even One Life to Live's ratings are higher.
Yep, the President interupted the show yesterday, and I didn't even mind it! :confused3 I than fell asleep.... :rolleyes1

The news report preempted the show on ABC, but the show was shown in it's entirety on Soap Net last night. I thought it was pretty good. ;)

I have 2 questions.

1. What is that nickname that Ryan calls Jonathan? "Hockit" or "Hawkit"? Or something?

2. I understand Opal and Palmer have a son named Petey. Where is he? :confused3

Not sure of the nickname. Yes, Palmer & Opal have a son named Petey. You're guess is as good as mine as to where he is, but I'm sure when their ready for his storyline he'll show up as being about 25 or so.

To me it sounds like Hocket, but I hate it when he says it, because it always sounds to me like something you would cough up and spit out (so I guess it's appropriate ;) ).

That was good, Erika! :) I was also thinking / wondering about Jonathan's nickname, recently. I remember that when Ryan saw him for the first time (when he first came back to PV - when he was in bed with Kendall), he called him the nickname, and then soon after, they explained what the nickname meant........but I can't remember!

I've also been disappointed in the show, lately. The whole thing with the Laverys is so stupid - I'm not even interested, any more. I hate these "unrealistic" storylines (not that anything in PV is ever so realistic, but....) like the Lavery storyline and Julia's. I wish that they would just get through the mystery / action-adventure and let these characters settle in PV and have "normal" lives with "normal" issues that we can relate to (even the baby switch was more "relatable" than this stuff, if that can be said!). And now they're involving Di in the whole "intrigue" surrounding Julia, which will be even stupider. It's dumb enough that Di is turning out to be Dixie's until-recently-non-existent-half-sister, but now she's going to have some connection to "the underworld", too????

I think that it will almost be more fun to watch Babe scheming to manipulate JR and Krystals unfolding relationship with Adam, than all that stuff!

And I'm bored with Greenlee and Kendall, too. Maybe that storyline will get more interesting, as Greenlee starts to gather proof that Ryan is still alive.

The only people whom I consistently enjoy watching, right now, are Sam and Lily (and Reggie, when he's on) - they are just so adorable, together!

Thanks for the answers guys. I also thought "Hockit" sounded like something you spit up. :rotfl2: Or maybe Jonathan had alot of junk when he was little and he needed money, so people always told him to "Hock it". Who knows. :confused3 :teeth:

As far as Petey - is he supposed to be living with Palmer? I know the other day Opal said she was going to have it out with Palmer over Petey. What could that have meant? :confused3

ITA on Sam and Lily. They are too cute, but the Julia storyline is really ridiculous. I understand she was a much loved character in the past, but she is so nasty all the time, it's hard for me to grasp that she was once really sweet. ;)

Di/Dixie and "The Dragon" - OK, WAY out there - but I did get a kick out of the lizard package. ;)

But I suspect that when/if Cady McClain comes back - the whole Di issue will blow up and then get put to bed (or we can hope anyway). :)

And is it me - or are Ryan's eyes and voice starting to get annoying? Every word is super annunciated, with a tiny pause in between each super annunciated word - and his eyes bug out every time he says one of those words. And his head bobs up and down like a bobblehead doll.

I think I'm watching too much AMC. :rotfl:

I don't know if this has been brought up here before, but Walmart has AMC birthday cards.

I saw ones with Ryan, Greenlee and Tad on them. Actually pretty cute. DD and I each bought one for her boyfriend - who reluctantly gets dragged into watching AMC with us most days. His birthday is coming up soon so we figured it would be fun. :)

Might have to check them cards out. ;) SIDENOTE--Sydney Penny who plays Whoo-lia, is about 34 years old now, she was in a Clint Eastwood movie called "Pale Rider." :teeth: She has been around awhile, she was born in 1971...(I was, like, 13 at the time)

She looks pretty good at 34, but she's nowhere near as pretty as her "sister" Maria. ;)

I agree with the Julia storyline being so boring. The first few days when it was just her and Zach at Wildwind were so bad that I had to fast forward through them. I just couldn't take it. I has improved a bit, but still very boring.

ohh no! petey coming back at age 25?!?! hahah...he was one of the MOST annoying characters whenever they had him on the screen.

I have to agree about Ryan. Back when he was with Kendall, their chemistry and all made him very pleasing to the eyes and ears..lately though it's like watching paint dry...

Have a great week!

I wasn't going to say anything, but I have to comment to those of you who kid about Julia being called "Whoo-lia" by her mother. As one who works with many native Mexicans, that's the Mexican pronnounciation of "Julia". When the actress who plays her mother refers to her as that, she's just being true to the Mexican pronounciation. Come down to the Mexican Border (or maybe even in San Antonio where they're supposed to be from) and you'll find that's perfectly normal. I'm so used to hearing her name pronounced that way, I never thought about it until I heard people here referring to it.
That's a perfectly normal accent you're making fun of.

Hi Simba's Mom!

I know that the posters here certainly do not intend to "make fun of" Mrs. Santos's accent when they refer to Julia as "Hoolia", on this thread. A long time ago, many of us noted that the ONLY time Mrs. Santos seemed to use her native accent was when she pronounced Julia's name, or that of any of her other children - the rest of the time, she did not pronounce words with her accent. So it was a bit of a funny observation - I know that NO ONE here intended to be offensive or insensitive in any way - it was just an observation about the character - sort of like the way that we note that Ryan over-enunciates his words or Di's Southern accent "comes and goes", that's all! I'm sure that everyone here would agree and would certainly apologize if anyone misunderstood (because they did not know about this very early observation that probably originated on one of our earlier AMC threads) or was offended in any way.

I see that AMC is a repeat, today. And most of Friday's episode was pre-empted by hurricane aftermath coverage (at least in the NY area), but I did see a few pieces of it. Basically Tad confronting Di about Kevin ("THE DRAGON"), in the little shed, on their "romantic date", Sam offering to help Julia (I can't believe that she said "yes" and would allow her teenaged nephew to put himself in harm's way), and Zach calling Ryan at Erin's house, after Ryan, Erin, and Jonathan hugged and tearfully agreed to all get help to overcome their pasts, together........was that about it, or did I miss anything else "major"?

Hope that you're all having a great weekend! :)

OK, Thanks for clarifying! Now I understand-it would probably be OK if she'd used the accent to the same degree all the time. I hate it when accents "come and go". I guess I never noticed that about the mother.

I know that everyone here would feel horribly if anyone was inadvertently offended or hurt by the use of "Hoolia" (or anything else, for that matter!). I think that the "joke" was just the inconsistency with which Mrs. Santos used her accent - she only used it when she needed to call one of her children by name, but spoke with an essentially "accent-less accent", otherwise. And she was the only one who pronounced Julia's name as it is pronounced in Spanish - none of Julia's siblings did so, etc. So anyway..........that's how that started...........I hope that that clears up any misunderstandings that may have been out there!

I also hate when accents "come and go", Simba's Mom. I remember when Cady McClain first came to AMC - she had Dixie speak with a very pronounced Southern Accent (much stronger than either of Dixie's siblings, Will and Lainie)........then after a few months in PV, her accent started to fade.......until it was barely discernible, a few years later! Babe's accent has "calmed down" considerably since she came to town, 2 years ago, too. At least Krystal and Opal are consistent with the use of their accents!

Then there are people who just speak with a weird, unnatural cadence.........like Amanda.........listening to her talk (and watching her "act") is like nails on a chalk board, to me - she's so annoying!

UGH - the show is so boring - no wonder no one has posted, today! The only remotely interesting parts were Krystal's confontation with Di and Dani's very creepy and uncomfortable situation with Garrett (I wish that she had spoken with Myrtle! She is so wise! She would have had some good advice for her!). I can't determine which is more boring, right now - the "LAVERY SAGA" or everyone rushing to find out who Di really is / the Julia-on-the-run-plot. Why can't everyone just have a (relatively - for PV, anyway!) normal life, already??!! :)

Blech, I was behind for a week or two, but now I am caught up. Snoozeville!!!!!!!!

What the heck was with Krystals top yesterday??????? And Dani, she's still in high school right? Yet the first time she confronts Garret at the police station she's wearing a strapless push up top. Yuck! And he is soooooooooooooo creepy!

Now for my Del rant. I could never stand Del, he was always yucky. But the old Del was a dork and this Del is a muscle head. And does anyone think this one looks younger than the one they had many years ago????? The kids get older and Del gets younger. Also, wasn't he the one who fathered the child that Maria miscarried when she was younger? You think since he was once with Maria he'd be much more concerned for Julias welfare? Now last issue, I have not been paying much attention the last couple weeks, but has he seen Kendall yet? Did they not leave town together when she was Sarah Michelle Gellar?

This show need help. Although Tad and Aiden are always a hoot!

You guys are so right. Snooze fest. And what in heaven's name was Krystal wearing. UGLY! Though today should be interesting as the whole Junior, Junior, Junior story line seems to be kicking into high gear. I think I'm done whining.

Whew! i was just about to ask what happened yesterday as i missed it, but it looks like i missed nothing! thanks a bunch!
