I haven't watched AMC all that long, started about the time the baby swap story was happening. But, I know you're all saying BORING, but the only reason I'm watching AMC these days is because Days of our Lives is SUPER BORING, that show gets dummer and dummer every day. So, AMC doesn't seem so bad to me.

I totally agree about Days. I usually flip to Days during AMC commercials & sometimes I just laugh. Just when I don't think it can get any more far fetched something else happens.

I haven't watched much all summer & haven't been keeping up with this thread either. It's been such a snooze fest!! But I just have to ask - have they replaced Derrick?!?!?! If so when & is it permanent?? Yuck!

No offense meant with the HOOOOOOOLIA references. It truly is meant as a term of endearment. IASW Rider was exactly right. It is really more a commentary on the entire Santos clan's accent which comes and goes like a summer breeze. My in-laws speak Spanish as their first language as they came from Cuba in the 60s after they were married. They both speak great English, but I can tell you that their accents don't fade in and out like Madre Santos. In fact their accents get thicker when they are mad, not disappear. Anyway, no offense was meant. It is just funny to me because they really ennunciate the accent when the names are used and no other time. Of course, if AMC were real, the family, especially Mama Santos would speak Spanish to her kids when they were alone. I had to learn conversational Spanish pretty fast because often my wife and her parents will speak Spanish and not even realize it. I had to make sure they weren't talking about me!!!

Onto the show. BLECH! It is really wretched. Del is what? About 23 years old. He left the show many years ago pushing 30 didn't he? SORAS in reverse for sure!!! The previous Del was smarmy but had a dorky country charm about him. This one looks like he walked out of a gym and is about JR's age. They need to cast better. I am also really tired of Amanda making Janet out to be a freak. It is really disappointing. Amanda can go, as far as I am concerned. I end up fast forwarding the scenes between Amanda and Jamie, they are so durn boring (with my best faked country accent).

The Di/Dead/Dixie smells too. So tired of that storyline. You know how Proteus ended up being Vanessa. I wonder who this Dragon will be. Maybe it will be Brooke or hmm, how about Myrtle. Dress shop owner by day, evil crime lord by night. FUN!

I was shocked to see a new Derrick today. I was never all that fond of the other Derrick, but not sure if I like this one or not - I think I do!

I'm actually thinking there are some things that could be brewing that could make the show more interesting & fun to watch.

I'm looking forward to Di/Dixie being revealed. I both like & despise the storyline with Danielle & Garrett. It disgusts me to think he could have "a thing" for Danielle but I think Danielle is doing a great acting job & is acting just like a teen would - not sure if she's imaginingg things & if it's actually her fault. I really like the actress.

I'm wondering who Kevin Sturgis is & when they'll bring him "out of the closet". I like Julia but not fond of this storyline right now. I just wish they would have brought her back as already having all her witness protection "issues" worked out. They could have made her like a mom to Sam now that Maria is gone.

Just my thoughts on the show right now!

In my opinion, Babe has more chemistry with JR, than Jamie (as he is her real life husband). I find that to be odd. Anyway, I loved those scenes today. The Crystal and Adam scenes were pretty good too. I think the Carey women with the Chandler men may be the most interesting storylines in awhile. I am bored to tears with the others.

What the heck is with this new Derek?!!!! I knew that there was supposed to be a new Josh, but a new Derek, too??!! I was totally shocked when Garrett called the new actor "Derek"! I really like the actor who's been playing Derek for years! I remember that there was a "replacement Derek", several years ago, when the regular actor was appearing in an Off-Broadway play, temporarily. I wonder if this cast change is permanent or temporary?

Anyway, I agree that the Garrett and Dani storyline is disturbing, but interesting, and that it is being played very well by all of the actors involved. I wonder what Josh's brilliant plan will be to try to "trap" Garrett - pose with Dani in bed, as if they had just been together, to see how Garrett would react? (Maybe that is Josh's "M.O." - posing in bed with every woman in PV - without having sex with them - to try to play out some drama in each of the women's lives. ) Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they resolve that situation.

I'm totally bored with Di and Zach and Julia and the Dragon, etc. I don't even care whether the whole town finds out that Di is really Di and not Dixie. The only interesting outcome of that will be JR's reaction - I just have a feeling that he is going to do an amazing acting job, when JR has his inevitable meltdown. And I'm really curious to see what will happen with him and Babe - I just have a weird feeling that even though Babe says that she just wants to get JR to marry her so that she can eventually win custody of "Little A", that the 2 of them might somehow wind up falling in love for real......even though that's hardly conceivable after all of her declarations of love for Jamie and hatred for JR......but then again, I also agree that Babe has more chemistry with her on-screen ex-husband than with her real-life husband!

As much as I can't stand Amanda or what they've done to her character (AND the way she's constantly talking about how "crazy" Janet is), it was interesting to see her show some (genuine?) vulnerability with Jamie, 2 days ago.

And I definitely think that the wardrobe people are a little out of their minds, lately - between that awful top that Krystal was wearing, 2 days ago, and the weird one that Di is wearing now, I don't know where they've been shopping, lately!

I'm not exactly bored with the show ...... BUT ....... Both my DH and I just cannot stand anything about Amanda. Yes - her voice is like nails on a blackboard. We love both Babe and Dani. It was a total shock to see a new Derrick. We put the closed captioned on just to double check if his name was Derrick.

I hope I don't seem old - fashioned .... but ...... I think most of the women on the show would look MUCH better if their clothes were not so brief and practically immodest. Even during the dead of winter in PA, they are still wearing such brief clothes with spagetti straps. I remember in the winter, Kendall was once wearing a sweater that looked really cute on her. I realize that the lights might be too hot, but they always wear the very briefest of fashions all winter.

It's really noticeable when the men are in leather jackets and the women are in strapless tops. This always annoyed me. So, Ryan gets to be warm while Greenlee has to freeze and look pretty?

I enjoyed those scenes too. But DD's boyfriend was quick to point out (as he was being "forced" to watch) that Little A wasn't really crying in the hospital. We had to back it up on the DVR, so he could prove it.

He was right. Little A didn't even have his mouth open, yet you could hear bloodcurdling screams. There's one instance where I'm glad to catch a blooper. I would hate to know what kind of torture they'd have to put the kid through to make him cry like that.
