So if I buy booze on the 2nd day of Cruise in nassau I can drink it on the ship?

You can buy it on the island and bring it back to your room and Disney doesn't care. We had brought enough for a 3 day and we saved the island goodies for souvenirs but you certainly could enjoy it on the cruise (in your room as The Princesses of course will point out) and no one will mind.

And I think that is a bit of a comment to make, pp. DCL is substantially higher in price for cruise fare than your typical CCL, so this will help offset a person's on board expense, if that is what they choose to do. It may not be yours or my personal choice to drink a bunch, but it doesn't mean that they aren't welcome on the cruise line (under their -and everyone elses- best behavior).

To the OP, Disney takes all your money upfront. So they don't have to worry about what you bring with you on board, as long as its consumed responsibly and not in the public areas (like sitting out with a cooler) and as long as it can fit into a security scanner, you can bring it with you. Btw no coolers are allowed on board. And you can bring items back to from the islands with you too. DC even provided a handy dandy travel corkscrew for us to open our wine with.

They are a very different cruise line. Welcome to Disney!

I understand that it is expensive and people have different priorities, but in light of the expense of the cruise to begin with, I would think that if your main priority is drinking, there are much less expensive options that hit the same ports.

Well maybe they still want a Disney cruise... and maybe they had no idea that there was a cruise line out there with a flexible embarkation policy...

No offense, but if all you are interested in is how much you can drink, Disney might not be the cruise line for you...

Actually that is extremely offensive and overly condescending and frankly none your business what I do in my cabin. Why dont you parade around requesting that nobody drink on their vacation. Maybe you can hold up signs asking others to not drink and that they chose the wrong ship.

Im taking my 18 month old son on a Disney Trip. At the time time I would like to be able to sit on my balcony and sip a drink occasionally. If I am able to buy a small bottle of rum while Im in Nassau rather than make a trip to a store via hotel shuttle pre-cruise then I would certainly prefer that route. In actuality on a 4 day cruise that would mean that I would have a even more limited time frame to have a drink.

Hell why stop there.. Maybe when I enjoy epcot food and wine festival when I get off the ship, I should boycott the wine.. Because maybe I chose the wrong resort and thats not very Disney.

I apologize. On my phone I cannot search other posts. From the first post asking about all-inclusive of drinks (which usually means someone wants to drink as much as they want) and then the "so I can bring booze on from Nassau" it read as someone more in the mood to party.

I have no issues with drinking in general - I do as well. But to me it read as someone looking to party the whole time.

A question for all you cruise experts please, I know several cruise lines do an all inclusive package whereby you pay a set amount per person per night to have all your drinks included, although I do not believe DCL do this does anyone know if this is something they may be bringing in in the future?

Haven't heard anything about DCL implementing anything like this. I think RCL does it but it's expensive IMO. If it was less expensive I think it would be great.

Hmmmm.......what makes you so sure that's all this poster is interested in? I carry my own alcohol onboard AND I buy alcohol while onboard, does that mean DCL isn't for my family? That's a very presumptuous statement.

Lol... those were my thoughts... I might have a drink 5 times a year if that. I would be interested in the price of anything inclusive not because I want to get wasted but so I dont have to worry about paying for anything extra afterwards. When we do WDW I do it all inclusive it allows me to relax and not think of the cost of each drink or desert me or my DH wants. Yes I realise I still pay for it but its done ahead of time and figured into vacation cost not extra cost.

My Dh plans on bringing his own beer because it doesnt make sense to pay 8 per beer when he can get it for 1.5.

I think its great Disney lets you do it.... I could see DCL doing an inclusive drink. Maybe 3-4 drinks per person per day or 2 anytime drinks and 2 with meal drinks.
