I know, I know, how could I ever even consider a non-Disney vacation??? Sorry. But for those of you who have been to an all inclusive resort, Do you have any recommendations??? What have your experiences been like?? TIA -Rachael

The only one I have ever been to is Couples Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Its a romantic resort (big with honeymooners) that does not allow kids. Great place to get spend some romantic 1 on 1 time with your SO. We think very highly of the place and have had nothing but good experiences there. The all inclusive aspect is very nice. All food, drinks and activities are free and tipping is fobidden (staff members caught taking a tip are fired).

I've been to 3 all-inclusive resorts on the Yucatan Coast south of Cancun. They were all great vacations. We have two teenagers, and I felt very comfortable letting them roam the resorts together while my husband and I got some sun! The resorts are very clean and safe for families with children. If you're looking to find some places for adults only in that region, try the Adventura Spa/Palace, the Royal Hideaway, and the Riu Palace. The first one is adults only; the other two have very few kids (I think).

Our experiences were at the Iberostar Tucan, the Iberostar Paraiso, and the Barcelo Maya. Of those three, we liked the Iberostar Paraiso the best, although all were very nice, and each had their advantages and disadvantages.

The nice part about a vacation to this part of the world is that you can personalize your vacation - you can make it as busy or as relaxing as you like.

White sand beaches, turquoise water, the most difficult questions of the day are: "Do I lay on my stomach, or on my back?" and "Do I want a margarita, or a pina colada?" When do we leave?!?!?

When the kids were younger we went to Boscabel Beach in Jamaica for four nights. We had a good time but by the time it was time to go home, I was ready. (I get bored easily). I opt for cruises now. It is "almost' all inclusive. The problem with going to an island and staying is if there is a storm, you can't move the island. Ships move and its the rare cruise that has rain every day.
The entertainment and food are usually excellent. I found that the entertainment and food at the all inclusive was just "okay".
