I want to exchange my points for a resort in the RCI network. I'm booking at the last minute (so what else is new!) and need to identify a high-end resort to chill with the wife and kids!

Be careful with the all inclusive. Often you can book these for cash cheaper that the fees you would pay and the use of your points.

Denise in MI

My niece and her husband stayed at the Ventura Spa resort in Cancun which was all-inclusive. There is a separate all-inclusive fee which covers everything except cigarettes. They loved it there. Good luck in your search!:goodvibes

If you get a nice one your "fee" won't be more then the cash cost. (I do an All Inclusive trip every winter and if I could ever make DVC work for me it would be cheaper to pay the add on fee... never works so I wish OP luck. Disney as a 'trader' is a joke IMHO!)

We just got back from Riu Palace Riviera Maya on a package through FunJet $1149 pp non-stop airfare all drinks and food (great food!) and a Jr. Ste. with Ocean View on Gorgeous beach. I looked at trading into RCI and all the all-inclusives were either not as nice or an insane manadtory extra fee for all-inclusive (2400pp). You can check it out through DVC site click RCI then look at fees. The Grand Mayan is 1500pts. so much more than a cash ressie. Good luck.

I've yet to find an all inclusive to trade with rci that makes since.

All you get is the room. You have to then pay for the all inclusive feature to add on to it which is ridculous in price considering what you are already giving up in points.

Good luck though.

Often one can get the entire package for the cost of just the AI itself through RCI. These resorts are often available for a reason. As a minimum one needs to investigate the costs, alternatives and what is (and is not) included as well as the qualify of the options. One should investigate but I fijidoc in that I've yet to see one that's reasonable. Also, it would deprive me of one of my joys for most places, that of exploring through restaurants.

The Aventura Spa is around $1900 to $3300 for 2 people for a week. A quick search for June revealed a week for 2 for $2275 while the AI fee for a DVC exchange for June would be $2008. A return of a whole $270 for around 134 DVC points. With an air package you can likely get it to where the room is truly free. It's also Adult only IIRC.
