All I Want For Christmas is My Two Mouse Ears//December '08 UPDATED 12/03

party: 99 DAYS LEFT party:

Wow when I started planning this trip it was more than 200 days away. It's getting closer and closer. They are starting to put Halloween stuff in the stores now. It is making me so excited because I know after Halloween it's CHRISTMAS!!! (Well after that little holiday called Thanksgiving :confused3) I have been so excited this week, because it is going by so fast for me! I thought I would make a list of my MUST do's to help me. (I will also include Ryan's)

Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain (If It's open, I read that sometimes in Dec it's closed)
Space Mountain (Dad said the first time I went on it I barely made it through and tried to stand on my tip-toes. :rotfl: I was only 6)
Monster's INC Laugh Floor (I LOVE Monster's Inc.. it's my favorite Pixar movie .. tied with Toy Story)
Buzz Lightyear
POTC
BTMRR
HM

Hollywood Studios
Indiana Jones (Ryan didn't get to see it before and really wants to)
Star Tours
Beauty and The Beast
Rock N Roller Coaster
TOT
Little Mermaid (Again one of my favorites)
Lights, Motor, Action! Stunt Show (Ryan is so excited about this)
Toy Story Midway Mania

EPCOT
Misson Space (Orange Team!)
Test Track
Soarin'
Turtle Talk With Crush (Ryan really wants to see this and I have a funny story about Ryan coming up)
Club Cool (To let Ryan taste his soon to be favorite drink :rotfl: any guesses on what that could be??)

Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Killimanjaro Safari
Kali River Rapids
Finding Nemo

I hope we get to do everything we want to, but if we can't that just means I have to come back right? :rolleyes1

When I was talking about Turtle Talk with Crush it reminded me of a funny story about Ryan. Ryan and I first met right after he graduated from highschool. One day I was at his house and found his junior year journal for his English class. Well the topic was "Who is my hero" (or something like that) and who do you think Ryan wrote about? :rotfl: That's right he wrote about Crush. :lmao: He wrote how Crush is the hero of the movie, because if it wasn't for him Marlin never would have found Nemo. Yes, this was moment I knew we were meant for eachother.

Hi Katie, I saw your post in Scott's PTR and followed you over. It looks like you and Ryan are going to have a magical trip. I am jealous of all the Disers going in December as I was supposed to go then too but then I had to delay the trip until May. I will now have to live vicariously though all of your TR's. :cutie:

Hi,
Ok just came over. sounds like what u have planned is great. I am actually looking forward to the December trip, decorations and cooler weather. It was 96 degrees at WDW today, I would have melted.

Great trip report so far :thumbsup2 We're also going at Christmas, we'll be there when you guys are :cool1:

I like your ADR choices, DH wouldn't do PTC:confused: We're hoping to take our friends there next year if the plan comes together, I won't be telling them the theme tho. :lmao:

I hope you enjoy WCC too, love it there  When we went in 2006 we said we were getting married at WL the next year and they gave us champagne and made us get up and dance :woohoo: You'll certainly have fun :thumbsup2

I was just thinking of something for you to get/do for DBF - we did a carriage ride at POFQ for my birthday last year which was romantic, it's a lovely resort too. As for something to get him, that's a bit tricky for the men (unless they love Disney as much as us girls seem to:rotfl: ) not sure if there are any sporting stores there (at DTD), there might be in Dec if they transform it quickly. Have you checked out WWOS? Not sure what events if any they will have.

Our trip this year will be a mission to find characters - didn't get to do many last year so I want to make up for it :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more, hope your first few days at school were ok? Ah the student life, no money at the time but all the freedom and spare time are missed when you have to work all the time (I'm sounding really old now :lmao: )

Ok I dont know HOW I did this, but I some how missed your comment. I hope you don't think I was ignoring you.

Anywho, it's cool that we will both me going that the same time! I hope we like WCC I am really outgoing and Ryan is too for the most part so I'm sure we will have a great time. I love embarassing Ryan so I hope PTC makes him eat ALL of his veggies. :rotfl:

The carriage POFQ sounds awesome. Do you have to make reservations for this?

School is okay, these days I like to think of it more as "the place you go so time will go faster for vacation" :lmao:

Welcome and thanks for coming! :yay: I am so happy to be going in December.. it's my favorite time of the year. Of course when May rolls around I am going to be jealous of you!

Hi Scott and Weclome! I am SO looking forward to December. As much as I would like to jump up and go to DW tomorrow I am so glad we chose December. I am too sweet to melt. :lmao:

Hey no worries - I get ignored a lot - kidding :rotfl:

Our partners have to be up for anything we Disers throw at them -DH is getting wise to this and doing his own research ;) Just be prepared for anything at WCC - in a good way :lovestruc - and don't expect a quiet meal :dance3:

I copied this info about the carriage ride - it's from wdwinfo.com so should be up to date. I'm sure we booked ours in advance (I'm thinking 30 days but not positive) and I think the number is WDW-PLAY ? May want to check that though.

A relaxing and cozy 25 -minute carriage ride through Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort

$35.00 for 25 minutes (includes tax)
Tickets are sold by the carriage drivers
Cash and Disney Resort guest room charge only. No credit cards are accepted
Large carriage holds 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children.
Reservations nightly (weather permitting)
Begins at 6:00 pm with the last ride departing at 9:30pm
Departs from in front of the Boatwright's Dining Hall
Beverages are permitted

I definately recommend it, the driver was awesome and it was just so nice to slow down and relax for a bit :cloud9:

I love how everyday life is just killing time til we get there :rotfl: I totally agree :thumbsup2

And that picture of the castle was just fabulous  I'm getting goose bumps - I can't wait to be stood in front of it watching Wishes

I love all your 'must do's ' I think if you plan it carefully you'll be able to do most things - firstly check the show times as they are set, then see what is closest (esp. to each other - we often find ourselves walking from one end of park to the other when we realise we've missed something  ) Also try to go with the EMH's (although I read on the Disunplugged forum today that they now don't give out wristbands but check your resort ID's - causing delays :headache: ). If you don't end up doing everything don't worry, as you said that's an added incentive to go again :cool1:

Oooh! Thank you for all the info about the carriage ride! I also read about a sleigh ride at WL. I was thinking maybe we could do that after WCC. :confused3

I subscribed to TGM and the itenerary I made are mostly "green" days. So hopefully TGM knows what he's doing. I have been doing a lot of research. I heard a lot of good things about him.

YAY FOR ONLY HAVING 99 DAYS LEFT TO GO! :woohoo:
97 NOW!! :dance3:

Yes! Our trips do overlap. We will be at AllStar Music Dec 12th and 13th then the Poly for the 14th-18th.

Yay for our trips overlapping. Maybe we'll "accidently" bump into eachother. :rotfl:

Hey Katie! I just found your PTR and am going to join in. That's so cool you're majoring in Elementary Ed.-that's what I majored in too. Oh yes, and I also love taking pictures and scrapbooking.

We're going to be there around the same time as you! We'll be there from Dec. 16-Dec. 21 at the Beach Club Villas. Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

ETA: I just saw you're going to MVMCP on the 18th...that's when we're going too! :)

Top Ten Reasons Hurricane Season is Like Christmas

10. Decorating the house (boarding up windows).

9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping
gear, flashlights).

8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.

7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".

6. Family coming to stay with you.

5. Family and friends from out-of-state calling.

4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.

3. Days off from work.

2. Candles.

and . . . .

1. And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas . . .

At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house!

HEHE thought you might enjoy this!

Hi! Nice to meet you! I am so excited about becoming a teacher.

Awesome about the MVMCP if you see us come and say hi!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You forgot one. You get to miss school! They canceled two days last week for us. Oh guess what! My best friend started working at BWW on the BW.

**Edit**
I didn't see the days off from work part. Darn it I thought I was clever.

Ahh thats awesome! I know a couple of the managers over there! I might be coming visit the board walk in a couple weeks...i will let ya know!

I apologize for being so late to this. For whatever reason (slow, stupid) I didn't notice you had a report going.

Now that I'm here, I'll sit back and enjoy the trip plans, as well as the enthusiasm you have for becoming a teacher. I have third grade, and I recommend that if you're choosing between 2nd and 3rd, go with 2nd. Second in our district does not take the state testing, which is pressure-packed.
It adds a lot of stress to the job.
A lot!
The third grade curriculum is also known across the country for being one of the biggest jumps, thus most difficult for the kids. My team teacher and I asked to move down to second grade last year, because we're weary from the stress and pressure, but our principal and assistant principal said our scores are too good, so they can't afford for us to move down. We're going to make the request again this year. Even a one year break would be nice.

I will look forward to following all of your plans and seeing many great Christmas pictures to look at during my Christmas break!

Again, I am so sorry I didn't notice your report. Thanks for joining us on the Magic Camel!

Less than a hundred days now! Woo Hoo! :woohoo: I love the plans. I ended up missing a lot of stuff. All the dining we planned took away about 5 hours a day from the parks. Sometimes more. But like you said, missing it means ya have to go back.

Yeah definitly let me know. :thumbsup2

Welcome MeMom! Don't apologize! You're here now and that is all that matters. :yay: Right now is the boring part anyway.. there is only so much I can talk about as far as planning. When I get to the TR that will be the fun part. :thumbsup2

I think the reason 3rd grade is so much harder is because that is when the introduce multiplication and cursive handwriting (I believe .. atleast it is here) I am not TOTALLY sure I might even consider first grade. Everyone I have talked to has told me whatever I do don't go try middle school. :rotfl:

A friend of mine from church just graduated and got a job at a local middle school. It is in a bad part of town and he HATES it. He said that he isn't even sure about finishing the rest of the year.

:cheer2: 92 to be exact. :rotfl: I agree with the dining. I am probably going to cancel my Tony's ADR because that is the same night as MVMCP and I think it will be a lot more laid back if we just eat counter service that night. We don't have kids so even if we eat something light at about 5 or 6 we will be good until the party is over.

just subbing in today, i like finding PTR's and TR's of people our age! my boyfriend and i are going to Pop in April and I am overly excited:banana: lol cant wait to read more, hoping to maybe steal some of your ideas too b/c im really liking them :thumbsup2 cant wait to read more!

Yeah definitly let me know. :thumbsup2

How funny! As a middle school teacher, I would actually freak :scared1: at the thought of teaching elementary. Even though this is the start of my thirteenth year in education, I can still remember my substitute teaching days, and I hated teaching elementary. In fact, the younger the grade, the more I disliked it. :sad2: Weird, right? It reinforced the idea that teachers are called to the populations they teach. I couldn't imagine teaching any other grade level than middle. I feel bad for your friend. Maybe it's the area the school is in, or maybe it's the age group, but I hope he finds his niche and not give up on the profession. :teacher:

As usual, I love reading your PTR. :surfweb:

can it come faster, I really want to go.
