I have heard so many rave reviews about the All Hands On Deck cheese platter from this board that I was thinking it might be a nice thing to put together for a special occasion this week (DH's 30th birthday).

Can anyone help me out and tell me what to get for this? Thanks in advance!

The all hands on deck cheese platter is free from room service....All you do is call when you are in your room and they will bring it right to you! ;) It is very good! Very yummy cheese!

They do offer one you can purchase if you call Disney directly but the picture looks like the one you get for free from room service....just a little bigger...in that case just tell them you want 2 ;)

Hope this helps......they offer some very good room service food !!

The menu is in your room!

I think the OP wanted to create one at home. If that is the case here is what I remember it was. (we have probably consumed 20 of them on our various trips)
A wedge of blue cheese
a mini (I think they are called baby bell) gouda cut in half
thin triangles of montery jack or munster, triangles of chedder
a small wedge of brie
some grapes
a small cup of wallnuts
assorted crackers.

I don't know if this is on their tray but a wedge of fresh parmesan is VERY good on a cheese platter.

DW and I felt the cheese platter was very overrated on these boards. We ordered it our first or second night onboard our cruise a month ago and found that it was pretty standard fare, neither bad nor excellent but pretty par for the course. I would not discourage ordering it, but I would lower my expectations a bit..

Thanks for the info, everyone. I did want to create something like this at home. Thanks for the ideas, AnnMorin.

Some celery was also on mine.
I would know as they were standard cocktail-on-the-veranda fare.....my eyes are misting as I type (add that to the poll about crying when your name is announced)

(and remember some baggies to bring the cheese platter contents to the shows)

I do agree that the plate was surprisingly small...perfect for me but you can always order two - we ordered cookies in multiples ALWAYS!

We had a wedge of boursin cheese on ours...that or bleu cheese tastes great with crackers and grapes...I could live on a All Hands on Deck platter.

I agree, 100%! Much smaller than we expected, and the cheese and crackers were ok, but certainly not great. I'm not complaining, just agreeing that my expectations, after reading these boards, were much higher. I would order it again, if I have the great fortune of going on another cruise, but I would order 2 at a time for DH and myself.

For creating a cheese plate at home, I would add smoked gouda and champagne grapes, if available.

YES!:bounce:

We go one last week, boy have they changed. The other years they were great, that is why the great reviews. This year there was about 1/3 the cheese as the previous years. DH was very disappointed.

We were quite pleased with ours! We had a thick wedge of what I believe was gorgonzola (a bleu cheese), two slices of smoked gouda, two slices of muenster, and two slices of swiss, 15 crackers and a bunch of grapes. My daughter and I each ordered one for "lunch" one day and split one after coming off of Castaway Cay.
