All Hail!!!

I confess I’m a bandwagon jumper. I rarely pay attention to the Phillies anymore. I attend a game maybe once every other year, and haven’t watched on TV since the last time they made the playoffs. (2011?)

I don’t pretend that I’ve been a die hard fan since 1968, like some others popping out of the woodwork claim to be.

I keep track, but in general I don't watch baseball on tv. I'll watch the World Series, though! There are just too many games! I'll go to one Phillies game a year and a couple Iron Pigs games (their AAA team, they are local to me).

Yeah, but I said “major” US cities.

Perhaps Charlotte qualifies now, but the others are B or C list. Or in the case of Buffalo……minus F….:duck:

;)
Well that would leave San Diego out too. San Diego may be top 10 in population. But it isn't major.... Except at losing and being jealous of LA. Even the teams that used to be in San Diego don't win. The taint sticks to them like glue.

Yeah, in late September the playoffs were in serious doubt. A month later. :cheer2:

And of course there is a convenient excuse if the Astros win.
Already looking for excuses before hand? That's San Diego talk.

So @RedAngie, if I root for the Phillies to win the World Series, could you root for NYCFC to beat the Philadelphia Union on Sunday? It sounds like a fair trade. :duck::scratchin:rotfl2:

What did San Diego ever do to you, Bitter Baron of Bermuda (onion)?

I watch around 90% of the games (I start the game late so I can skip commercials). I haven't been to Citizens Bank Park since 2013 and usually traveled to see them on the road like in 2017 combining a trip to Disneyland and seeing them play against the Angels.

I did see them play at an exhibition game in Tampa this year before the regular season started.

I'm looking forward to the new scheduling rules next season where every team plays against the other 29 times so I don't have to travel to see them play a regular season game.

Thoughts on game 2 so far?
First two pitches of the inning resulting in two doubles was an ominous sign. Then a third double on the fourth pitch!!! I was yelling “get that bum pitcher outta there!”

Oh well. I never expected the Phillies to sweep.

OK. I DO feel a bit sad for the Padres. I think San Diego is the only major US city that has never won a sports championship.

The old AFL doesn’t count in my book.

And they lost the Clippers and Chargers to LA.

The best weather in the country makes up for all of it and then some.

If Buffalo is minus F what is Green Bay? There are city blocks in Manhattan with more population than the entire city of Green Bay.
