All FP machines to be removed from Animal Kingdom by next week and....

Except there won't be any paper fastpasses to pull.

They've all declared tomorrow's test a success and are now over on the Resort boards exalting the colors of the new duvets at GF........

LOL! BTW, what colors are they? ;p

fans of FP+ seem to be mostly those who didn't use legacy FP much if at all. I can see how the + could appeal to that category of guest--who probably make up the majority of guests at WDW but the minority of posters here.

Just because I absolutely agree that the manner of the roll-out tomorrow is distressingly horrible, does not mean I do not see a way that the final version can be better. Maybe, it is just a matter of optimistically waiting to see, rather than pessimistically trashing the unknown?

I understand but I optimistically waited to see how the GAC system would change, never believing that DIsney would throw disabled children under the bus. Guess what? It's everyone else's turn now.

I applaud optimism in others. From my perspective, I'd rather be realistic and be pleasantly surprised.

It's possible that I don't see all of the optimists because I have some of them on my ignore list along with CMs.

Sorry, bad typing on my part haha.

We are at AKV-Kidani. That is our "home". AK not busy at all. Since we couldn't pull FP-, we just did stand by and it was fine. Just took a different approach and took our time. By 2:00 wait for Dinosaur was 90 min, so skipped that. But we had FP+ for EE at 3:00. Went in at 2:58 and were on the train at 3:01. Awesome.

How do you do both FP+ and -?

Sorry I'm lame - can't go thru all the posts to find the answer on this phone!

We were able to pull FP at AK on Saturday using our SSR KTTW cards. Those were issued to us at check in even though I asked if we even needed them. One of our APs doesn't pull FPs anymore. Just YDS's and it doesn't matter if it is used for park entry or not, it just doesn't work. We have been issued paper FPs by either the CM hitting some button on the machine or by getting the FP card to use in the machines. They are all very unsure why it isn't working for FP though and all have suggested replacing it. I believe it has to do with him getting a replacement band last month. That's when this all started.

OMG, that's the highest I have ever seen the wait at Dinosaur. I wonder if they just let FP+ through and don't worry at all about the standby people.

There's a big discrepancy between posted "expected" time (10 minutes) and actual wait time (45 minutes) according to my apps. It's kind of weird. Maybe they're having technical problems.

I'm surprised to not see more of a local AP holder fan base. Maybe the vast majority of the haven't been activated in the system yet but as a local AP holder, this system works for us perfectly.

How many local AP holders have also had a resort stay to have them activated? If there aren't many, I'm not sure why there would be a big fan base...

I'm not sure how many locals ever stay on site. I know we did just for the sole purpose of activating our APs in the system. It was pretty cheap to stay a night at POP and the benefits of permanent FP+ access have been huge.

Hmm...I'm wondering if they've started to actually implement the conversion to "virtual tickets", as the T&C has always said...or they broke the relationship with the physical AP by issuing a "new" AP, but a virtual one.

Looks like pretty light demand over at AK right now:

I think it is a mixture of both. As in, anyone who was in the system prior to the main rollout isn't effected but any alterations to ticketing or band activation/replacement makes it as if you are new in the system and therefore covered under the new rules.

If I ever remember to go to GR, I'll see if they can issue him a new one or maybe fix the relationship between the band and the ticket. Even the MM+ cast have said his ticket should still work and that we weren't suppose to be using the FP+ system ATM unless we were staying on site and APs were supposedly blocked out from pulling paper FPs during a resort stay but reactivated to pull paper FPs once the resort stay was over. Disney IT isn't that good, soI doubt that is more than a line they are told to spiel.

This week is traditionally one of the quieter weeks to visit WDW

Just thought I'd point out that we have over 1000 posts in a thread about something that hasn't happened yet.

:lmao:

We are, "semi local" (Clearwater/Tampa) and frequently drive up to disney ( 2x a month or so). We got our MB's sometime in october after a pop stay and have been using them since. Haven't had any issues with on-the-fly changes, making ressies as we drive up etc. big fan of everything but the tiering, honestly.

Too lazy to edit the title ;)

In all fairness, the machines aren't actually getting physically removed tomorrow. Maybe they'll stay untouched (like certain parts of Epcot ;)) and will be used as proof of the olden days when people visit with their kids in 20 years.

Maybe! LOL
