Have any of you had a chance to try Poutine at The Daily Poutine located at Disney Springs? I haven't tried it yet - it sounds so odd to me. I have many friends who absolutely love it though, so I might give it a try someday.

In the meantime, Craig stopped by there to try a new item on their menu - All-Day Breakfast Poutine. Take a look at his video review to see what he thought of it.

Don't know about anyone else, but that looks GROSS to me and it sure AIN'T Poutine. I mean come on, tater tots?? sausage gravy??

At least they're using cheese curds. My hubby would be sitting here screaming at the screen over his pronunciation but then he can be a bit of a pip at times over the silliest things :P

I'm reserving judgement over the place until i try the Classic because i'm a sucker for a good poutine.

Sorry about being a Canadian snob, but it ain't Poutine without fries. Tatertots don't do it.

But I am down there Sept 21, and will give you a review of their original Poutine. Maybe Craig just doesn't know what its supposed to taste like.

I am glad Craig liked that whatever it was that they were misrepresenting as poutine. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Tater tots, bleh! Sausage gravy, aka wallpaper paste, double ick! Oh, the horror!

It ain't Poutine, but it does look delicious. Love, love, love the Tots.

The question I do wonder about is how the Yanks, particularly the southerners, pronounce it. The picture I have in my mind is of them saying "Gimme one of them powt-eyens".

Its true its not poutine, but it does look pretty yummy. However I think Im the only Canadian that doesn't really like poutine.

No you're not Sara, my DH just doesn't get it but he's from the East Coast. He would much rather have fries, gravy and dressing (stuffing). It's a Newfoundland thing. He just doesn't think the cheese curds belong there.

I might try their Classic poutine when I'm there in December depending on Mort1331's review of it.

Hmm, that might be ok.. I don't mind them with cheese and bacon..

Yup let you know in 2 weeks...But for me it comes down to the gravy. If its like the breakfest one, runny, forget it. While not a huge fan, I do like, and I will take one for the team.

I've got to admit it's all about the gravy for me too. I had poutine a few weeks ago in Quebec City and I didn't like some of the seasoning they put in the gravy. Ruined the whole thing for me. I kind of like the gravy we get around here, just the right amount of salt and beefy taste, yet a creamy texture.

Will be waiting for your review.

You know its kind of funny. I'm in my low 40's now. And for most of my life, the idea of French fries, soaked in gravy, covering or covered in cheese struck me as super disgusting. My wife is from Quebec though, and Poutine is kind of like a holy divine dish there so she loves it. My daughter has grown to love it too, except I was always on the outside looking in. But then about a year or 2 ago, I decided to give it another try. To my surprise, I quite liked it. So now I do enjoy a classic poutine with everyone else.... As for that meal though.... I dunno... It took me 40 years to get into poutine. It may take a little longer to get into the breakfast version ;)

No offence but that looks nasty! LOL

I LOVE real old school canadian poutine - just fries, cheese curds (we call in squeaky cheese in my house) and brown gravy. if I am being adventurous I might go for cheeseburger poutine or turkey poutine (with stuffing, turkey, turkey gravy)

Now you have me craving poutine. Thanks!

I want to say that @Teleclashter has had the *real* stuff up in Canada before, but I'm not 100% positive on that one.

Ok just got back last night. Had the regular poutine and..... Retuned it and got my money back. UGGGHH.
Took only 2 bites and could not eat any more. First the fries are very plain. I have had better in the parks at quick service, and thats not saying much. The gravy was watery and lack of flavour. Now what makes the poutine the cheese curds. These curds were large globs of rubber. When I say large, some were half a finger big, none were smaller then a section of my baby finger. I have regular size hands. There was no melt to any of these even in the 35 degree weather.
I actually was eating it at Dluxe burger where my daughter was having burger and fries. The server saw that I was eating it and asked how it was. I explained that it just was eatable to me. He was the one who said to take it back, being the Canadian I didn't feel right with that. But he instisted that is the Disney way if your not happy. I knew that but did nto feel comfortable with it. He brought over another server and she said her BF worked there and insisted on taking it back. Then asked what I was going to have for lunch. Mentioned I was fine, but he asked what I had yesterday when we were in and if I liked it. 3 mins later he was back with the order and would not take any money for it.
That is the Disney service.
Makes up for the very very bad poutine. I dont normally write reviews, but I did say I would put my 2 cents in.
But I will give high high praise for Dluxe Burger, some of the best burger and fries we have ever had. I one week went 3 times. And their shakes are very yummy too.
Enjoy.
PS. They tried to offer me the tator tots at no price, but even then I couldnt do it...lol

Thanks for the review. I'll be sure to keep away. Will have to add Dluxe Burger to my list.

AWESOME review! Written just like i wanted -- honestly by a Canadian who knows what poutine is and how it should taste (and that tater tots don't belong anywhere near it) We're already planning on sailing down the river several times for a burger and now i'm glad that's on my list. I love me a good shake as well -- thinking this will be our arrival day meal, countdown is on and we're stoked.

They are very yummy. and I thought not bad priced. I think $10 for the burger. Which if you've had the 5guys or South Street or things like that here, that is what your paying too. Shake was good, cant remember the price because they gave that too us too..lol. But the Shake at 50s prime time, WOWOW $6 for the PB&j shake. It was delicious even though it sounds gross. And my had to take it away from my daughter so she would finish her meal.
