I'm having a yard sale this Saturday and I've never had one up here. Are the people any different? Where I'm from we are all really nice and know each other. People are usually willing to pay a little more too. I need any tips you have. We have a lot of nice stuff, It's for my grandmother so I want to make sure it goes well.

Having lived in this area all my life and had a few yard sales---

People are generally nice, there are a lot of people who plan their Saturday morning around yard sales. They will try to bargain down on the price so it always helps to maybe price a little higher than what you expect to get.

Make sure you pre-price as much as possible, organize everything- it sells better when it looks neat.

I just moved from Charlotte and yes the people are generally nice. And yes they are looking for deals, so go a little higher and come down. Also, I feel I should warn you of "some" people. They are out for the ultimate deal. For instance at our last yard sale, my brother had some corner shelves out. One couple kept looking at them. Well, they waited until we got busy with other people and loaded it up and drove off with it. We just happened to see them driving off. This isn't the norm, but just want you to be warned and not let it happen to you. Good luck and I hope you make lots of $$$!!
