I cant quite believe it but I've booked.:hyper:

I found direct flights with Britannia Airways for the 4 of us £2296

A bit more than I wanted to pay but thought it would be worth not having to worry about the connection.

I feel I've rushed into it a bit but just couldn't find anything else as it's partly during half term week. I didn't want the flight to get booked as virgin and BA seemed chocker.

PLEASE don't anyone say they are rubbish:(

But really, anyone have any experiences with Britannia? What type of planes do they use, can't seem to find out at the moment, and do they have back seat TVs. Thats all my DS13 keeps asking.

Well thats us on our way... just villa and car hire to sort out now.

I cant really believe it yet :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :thewave:

Haven't travelled with Britannia Airways before but just wanted to say:thewave: Yippee!!!

Hi Jayne

PHEW!!

I have only flown with Brittania back in 1992. They were fine then, sorry dont know about now.

I am so pleased that you have managed to get booked. :cool1:

Happy Booking/Planning.
Never flown with Britannia before so can't comment.

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Well done Jayne. Glad you got it sorted at last! Sorry, never flown Britannia so dont know about the planes. Maybe pop into a local travel agent in town and get a Britannia brochure for Florida, that will have all the info you need. A lot of the Charter companies are giving Virgin a run for their money these days, so I would imagine it will be fine. On our past few trips, all with assorted airlines (inc Virgin and BA) our best flight by MILES was operated by MyTravel (Airtours). I reckon you got a good deal.

Try airline-network for car hire, they are pretty reasonable. What sort of villa are you after? I can PM you the web address of the one we are using if you would like to have a look....I can highly recommend it as we have stayed there before.

Great news Jayne::yes::

Now you have the flights booked you can fit everythuing else in around that!

When are you going?

Jayne

Have you tried this site:

http://www.britanniaairways.com/index.html

this lists some general info about them and the aircraft.

We flew with then last year to Cancun.

They were ok - newish plan 777 - typical charter flight really not much leg room or pitch and no seat back tv's in standard. You had to pay for drinks etc unless you were in the premium seats. I assume it would be similar for the Orlando flight (which I think is Sandford not Orlando according to the website). they only showed 1 movie on the 10 hour flight.

Their premium cabin did have seat back TV's but the number of channels and film selection was not extensive (I think 3 movies). You also get more legroom, better meals etc

All in all you should be ok with them.

Thanks for all your best wishes.

Kazzie we are going 14-28 Oct this year.:bounce:

Allie any info on villas much appreciated.

Will check out the britannia site and see what I can find out.

On with the planning now. so much to do so little time ;) well 5 months will soon go. I HOPE. :teeth:

I dare say I will ask for lots more help and advice over the coming weeks.

We've travelled with Brittania to Florida in 2001. No problems at all, typical charter flight. Travelling with them again this August, but upgraded to premium cos its our 20th wedding anniversary!!

Flew to Orlando with them about 15 years ago, at that time I thought they were okish.
Since then have flown with them to the Caribbean and Buenos Aires as P&O cruises charter them and we have no choice...I have to say I think they are fairly bad, but typical of many charter airlines. You'll be ok on your way out as you'll be excited and it's a day flight, but coming back overnight is hard. They are very cramped and no seat back screen. Personally I think their cabin crew leave a lot to be desired as well...but all this is only my opinion.
I'm sure you'll have a great holiday anyway though. after all, the flight is just one element of the holiday.

I've booked car hire through floridacarhire.com and got a great price. For a villa try looking at villas2000.com. It's worth trying for a deal on price. I am also going in October for 4 weeks and only booked a couple of months ago but found it difficult to get a villa for the full 4 weeks. There are plenty of great villas so try not to get attached to one before you know it's available. Then compare price, bedrooms location, pool & spa etc. I'm sure you'll get a good deal!
