bmibaby has been sold off, and is stopping trading as bmibaby.

Bit of a major headache for me, as thats who I've booked with, so in the morning no doubt I'll be on hold forever trying to get my refund sorted out, and booking Easyjet flights at last-minute prices into the bargain (ie way more expensive than it needs to be).

omg what a nightmare. i panicked when i saw that as we are also going on the 11th, but with British Airways..and its my first flight in 6 years o.O:scared1: phewwwwwwwwwwww. I hope you can get it sorted out x

Oh, what a headache Elaine. Really hope you manage to get something sorted

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this! :worried:

The thing is, as you say, any flights you book now, this near to your departure are going to be expensive. I wonder if they'll give you any kind of compo for that - in an ideal world they would, but in the real world perhaps not :scared1:.

I hope it doesn't take too long tomorrow to sort out your refund and that you manage to book alternate flights ok .

I'm taking no chances - I've just booked my replacement flights with easyjet from Luton (figured I'd get in there before the news of bmibaby folding gets more widespread).

It will cost me about £60 more than the BMI baby flights did, if I include petrol to Luton and back, and will be by far the most expensive flights we've ever taken to DLP, but its worth it. Its just a pain that its such short notice and I don't have the time to wait for an Easyjet sale.

One good thing though - the flight from Luton gets into Paris a couple of hours earlier on our first day than the bmibaby one would have ;).

So pleased that you have sorted alternate flights :goodvibes:cool1:.

I don't think £50 extra is that bad, I was seriously expecting £100s more this far in. And, great news about the extra DLRP time :goodvibes.

Hope you get through OK tomorrow and get the refund asap :thumbsup2.

thanks guys I'll let you know how I get on with bmibaby.

What a pain! That's pretty short notice. :confused3 But I'm glad that the changes haven't proved too expensive and have at least worked in your favour. :)

Every cloud....! ;) I'm sure you could do without all the bother & expense though! Good luck with the refund tomorrow :shamrock:

Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have too much hassle with this - good thinking getting in there quick with replacement flights.

Sorry to hear this, you must have been so stressed when you found out. Glad you got the new flights and at a reasonable price, woo hoooo!!

Hope your refund is sorted quickly
xxx

as expected, the bmibaby phonelines are constantly clogged up this morning. It does say on their news page that the cancelled flights will be automatically refunded within 21 days, so hopefully because mine would be one of the earliest ones after the deadline of 11th June, I'll get my refund fairly quickly.

Fingers crossed.

What a :headache: I always dread this with flights! Hopefully you get your refund quickly. Glad to hear you haven't had to pay too much more for your new flights too!

Glad you have managed to sort out alternative flights and with a couple of extra hours too. :goodvibes It is terrible that they can get away with this at such short notice. I wonder how many people there are out there who haven't realised yet?

Do u have a phone number Elaine??? I'm rushin home as now I have no way of gettin back from Disney as our return flight is cancelled... I cud cry in fact I am

there you go Nikki -

0844 2450055

Fingers crossed that you can get alternative travel arrangements in place quickly

Hope you manage to get it sorted Nikki.

phone busy and says call back.....

found flights so far back to birmingham but will cost as much as total flights did - do i book now and wait for refund???

are they automatically refunding????

arghhhhhh cants even call dh as his phone is broke so i am super stressed!! means flyin back to birmingham and long drive home and kids gonna b dead for school next morn :(

the blurb on the bmibaby news page says they are automatically refunding Nikki, within 21 days.
You have me thinking now though - I've booked return flights from Luton now because the outbound flight with bmibaby is of no use to me at East mids if I have to return to another airport from CDG. As I booked my bmibaby flights as returns, I'm expecting a full refund of both legs of the flight from bmibaby.

well, i got thru, but bloke cud hardly speak english.... i said over and over i only wanted the return flight cancelled, but im not convinced!! he said yes it wud b and the outbound wud remain......

this is just awful..... its gonna b hard enuf comin back with a diff airline & airport - just hope cay is too tired not to understand otherwise it cud b horrific!!

just so worried that all will b cancelled and have no idea how the hell ill know if its still ok!!
