All 3 hotels sold out...should I try on-line travel sites?

I waited too long to book and when I called Loews last night all 3 hotels are booked for my dates 10/18-10/20.

I checked some on-line sites and a few show some availablity. Has anyone ever successfully used an on-line discount hotel site to get reservations when a hotel says they are sold-out when you call directly?

Definatly check out some of the room wholesalers. I have used Hotelkingdom.com in the past and they have always been great to work with (and ALWAYS get good reviews on this board). I'm in the same boat as you are for my dates October 11th-13th. Waited too long and with horror nights all rooms are Sold Out through loews. I was able to get PBH for $169 through hotel kingdom.

I checked your dates through the site and found:
HRH: $179.16
PBH: $199.20
RPR: $128.00

I think you'd be hard-pressed to beat these rates anywhere else including Loews. Definately worth a look.

Just found even more good news for ya! Cheaptickets.com has Portofino bay for your dates at $189.00/nt. Just go to HotelKingdom and fill out a "Rate Champion" form and they will match that rate and beat it by $10. So you could stay at PBH for $179/nt, which is almost as good as the Entertainment rate!

We booked our RPR room thru Expedia. The hotel showed sold out for our dates 9/27 & 9/28 but we got a room $129. It's worth a look. Friday nights at RPR they have Dive in movies, they showed Shrek during our visit. And the best thing was the FOTL pass, much better than fastpass at Disney and we will def stay at Universal resorts in the future just for this feature.
