I am looking for help. I am thinking of purchasing a small trailer and the person selling this lives far away from me. I would be doing this transaction via TRUSTe and Ebay,,which to this computer internet novice seems a bit overwhelming. Has anyone ever made a similar transaction and what exactly does the TRUSTe mean? They would ship the trailer to me and I'd have 5 days to check it out and if unhappy return it.
I've never purchased anything from Ebay before and yes I know --a Trailer is a tad big to start with.
Any advise and info would be appreciated

Hmmmm....not sure how much I can contribute other than to say that the TRUSTe status basically means that the seller is attesting that they abide by the guidelines established by "TRUSTe" which in part deals with the collection and dissemination of pii (personally identifiable information) as well as providing a secure website via SSLs (secure socket layers) for the transaction that encrypts sensitive data (like credit card or bank account numbers) - and the site must be malware-free. They're not supposed to be able to post the TRUSTe seal w/o being a real member. (I've dealt with this a bit through work - not so much the financial side but the protection of pii since it was one of the governor's executive orders last year - yawn!).
I'm a big eBay buyer and occasional seller and the best advice I can give you is to check their feedback; if other buyers have reported issues with them, be careful; if other buyers reported returns were a breeze then I wouldn't worry about it as much. Good luck....let me know how you make out.

I appreciate all your help and info.
I was inches from hitting the buy button when I decided to recheck my garage door height,,I just can't get the trailer in through the door--the trailer is about 5 inches too tall.
But I am still looking and all your info made me more aware of what to look for and how to check and be cautious.
Taking time to help me understand this was very nice of you!
