alien swirling saucers...similar to teacups?

I like to try each ride once. We haven't been able to ride AS2 or SDD yet. However, the teacups make me nauseous and I haven't ridden them in a long time. Should I avoid AS2 in light of that, or give it a try with a dramamine?

Swirling Saucers is not as intense as the teacups. There is a little twirling around, but it isn't fast at all. I would give it a try if you have some time to kill.

We did swirling saucers but were not impressed, they are a “one and done” for us. I had high hopes because we love the tea cups, but we found the swirling saucers to be very rough and bumpy. They were kind of like a scrambler and a tilt-a-whirl, but not nearly as exciting as either. :(

I do not do well on spinners - and I was ok on this one. Like pp said, more of a sling than a spin. Teacups have much more spinning than AS2.

I get motion sickness easily and teacups make me dizzy, even when we don't manually spin our teacup. Alien saucers does not get me dizzy, but I don't think it's a very fun ride at all. My 10 yr old thinks it's boring. It does whip you around a little bit, me and my kids slide into each other and as we whip around.
Slinky dog is fun! If you can do only 1 of these rides, do slinky dog even though it has the longer standby wait.

Just chiming in to agree with others, I didn't do too well on the tea cups, but this was fine for me. Not a fabulous ride, but still fun

I can’t do things that spin but I do this ride. It does make me feel “different” for a few minutes afterward but not sick.

If you’ve ever done Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at California adventure, it’s apparently similar to that
It's basically identical as far as the ride system - just different theming.

I can't do the teacups either, and I'm totally fine on AS2 and Mater's. We thought AS2 was a lot of fun, especially at night. Gave me a whole new love for the Toy Story aliens. :)

I do not like the teacups but I had a blast on Swirling Saucers. You don't spin all the way around, it's more of a swing to the left, then swing back to the right as you travel around some rotating platforms.
Would definitely ride again because it didn't make me dizzy.

Just posting to say I agree with others. Tea cups get me way too dizzy to ride, but saucers didn't bother me one bit. I also agree that it really isn't that great of a ride, however if I was walking by and it was around 20-30 minutes or less I'd probably wait to ride it again.

Similar to, but not as intense as, the classic Whip fairground ride (look up Whip Ride on Youtube), I find both hilarious and a lot of fun! Not really like Teacups at all, there is no spinning, just a bit of a "kick" as it whips. But if you're very sensetive to motion sickness and carnival rides in general, then it's probably not your cup of tea, however as I said AS2 is a less intense and kid-friendly version of the attraction.

In our experience the surface on the ground of butt seemed kind of rough, don't know if it was supposed to be like that. Nice but boring, bit of a pain in the acronym that always the secondary ride is boring

DD rode Mater 10 times on our DCA visit. She rode it so many times in a row the CM gave her a citizen of Disneyland pin. We haven’t run into the same ride system since, Cars in DLP’s Studios was similar, but not quite it, so she will be thrilled to learn AS2 is the same!

Also in the not impressed crowd. I wouldn't wait in a line longer than 10 minutes for it. Even the kids weren't impressed.
So many other cool options that could have gone in that spot.
