Alien Swirling Saucers Acronym - Is There Anyone Left Whom It Bothers?

Well, it bothers the DIS word censors.

This is not a company that doesn't look ahead to the acronym (Grizzly River Run - GRR). They knew what they were doing with this new Toy Story Land ride's name.

Disney has really been pushing boundaries over the last few years. Sometimes, that's a form of both art and progress. Sometimes, it's just disparagingly iconoclastic for the sake of iconoclasm - as with the disrespect and irreverence of Disney's THE LAST JEDI.

This acronym feels like a contemptuous jab, painfully received from a loved one. If you feel this way (and .. yes, yes ... you probably don't), let Disney know.

Nope, not bothered & i don’t refer to rides by initials in real life anyway, i only do that here out of sheer laziness...lol

I doubt most park goers pause to consider the official acronym. Even in my house, unless I'm on the DIS we say things like "Ariel's Ride" or "Mine Train" as opposed to abbreviating the technical name. That being said, my initials (Amy Suzanne S....) are the same as the new ride's. So it doesn't bother me, I get that it happens!!

So what's the big deal with the name? They can't name something based on the abbreviation. If Disney was concerned they would have came up with a different name for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Irreverence? I think that’s taking it a little too far... it’s just a harmless nickname... and yes, I take more of an issue with MILF than Aliens Spinning Saucers. But I guess Disney can’t please everybody. What would you have named it, just out of curiosity?

I don't see any reason to get annoyed. I don't really see people on this site complaining about how hard it was to get fastpasses on the ride. I really don't see that ride coming up in many conversations at all. Sort of like Triceratops Spin. Except of the 8 year old at home I never hear about it at all and I expect the same of this ride. Its just a cheap filler for the new land that they could build cheaply and quickly ( in theory).
