Alien Encounter... love it or hate it?

I like the fact that MK has something that appeals to older kids but I really do NOT like dark scary things! We did it the first week it operated and have not done it again. You are welcome to my spot

I am not a fan of AE. We wandered over on the first night of our last trip and practically walked right on because the parade was going on.

I don't mind being scared. I secretly love scary movies even though they scare me.

I think I might have liked it more if you weren't tied down with that shoulder bar. I suppose they have to have restraints of some sort to avoid people jumping up and trying to escape, but I found the bar to make an uncomfortable experience even more uncomfortable.

For those of you who like Alien Encounter I would go on it the next time your there! Our managers have been confirming to Cast Members that very soon they will be removing AE as we know it and changing it to a Lilo and Stitch attraction!
I personally can't wait because (IMHO) AE is scary the first time, but corny the second time around!

Dh and I love it. Dh is all pumped up to take DD next week. I'm still thinking about it. She is only 5 but loves anything scary. Loves to watch horrible scary movies with Dh that even I can't watch. She is really into special effects and watchs those kinds of tv specials with him. She understands how it's pretend and can tell you how they do half the stunts. She laughed all the way thru Jaws and thought it was hysterical when Jaws ate someone. He has explained the special effects to her and she wants to do it. I am waiting to see how she is that day to decide if it's a go or not.

OK, don't know how anyone else feels about this, but I'm not thrilled at the idea of Lilo and Stitch being incorporated into this attraction. I mean, what's the point? One of two things happens: Either it becomes a kid-friendly attraction and all the scares are taken away; or kids come in EXPECTING a kid-friendly attraction and get the bejesus scared out of them! (Being a sick and wrong person, I kinda like the second idea... oh, no, I didn't say that. Who said that?)

Our family of five hates it -- It has nothing to do with MK being for kids only. Walt would be spinning in his grave over a bone crunching blood spewing alien. I guess it goes to show how we are desensitized to violence.
