Alien Encounter, is it gone?

I've been lurking around these boards for a little while now and havent heard about alien encounter at all the once very scary attraction in tommorrowland. when i last went (in 95 or so) i was too scared to go on it, but my parents said it was super scary. now im old enough to go on it- but im not sure its still around! did they replace it with that buzz lightyear ride or something? thanks- sry if this is obviously stated elsewhere, im new to the world of disney

About two years now. Replaced with Stiches Escape . We tried it in December and were disappointed. There are multiple threads on this board, both pro and con with reviews.

Well, sort of..... it is the same premise, but they put Stitch in instead of the unknown alien and inserted some humor.

so is it basically the same building/ride? if it is thats cool. i dunno i just thought the whole point of the ride was to scare you- there are enough little kid rides in mk from kids to enjoy. i thought this was one geared towards adults/teens, o well. i am looking fwd to trying test track and rockin roller coaster which will both be new to me as well as all of animal kingdom!

We accidentally took our 6 yr old DD on it thinking it was the Transit Authority during e-pass night our first trip. The trauma earned her a stuffed "Skippy" in the gift shop.

My son said it seemed basically the same except for Stitch instead of Alien. He said he felt so bad because there were so many young kids in there SCREAMING and crying because they were terrified. So if you haven't been, I would go try it. It is good "scary" fun the first time you go on it.
