Has anyone done the Alice in Wonderland tea party at the Grand Floridan? If so what did you think? What was included?

My 2 girls just did this on our past Jan. trip. I thought it was cute. They got to eat little finger sandwiches and the got to make there own cupcakes, well not really make - more like icing and decorate. They met the Mad Hatter and Alice and both got their pictures taken with them. When we went to pick them up they all pretended they were sleeping and they jumped up and gave us flowers. It was really a cute memory for them and they had enough fun that they want to do it again next trip. HTH.

My daughter and niece are doing the Tea Party in April. It sounds really fun!!!!I have'nt told them, It's going to be a surprise! !! !!! I hope they like it!!!

Oh this sounds really cute!!! What is it called exactly is it called on the website?

What about boys attending? Did you guys see boys there, or is it mainly a girl party?

I was considering booking this for my daughter but just got off the phone with a cast member who made me a little nervous.

I was told the doors are shut on the parents and I "would not be allowed to see my child" which I thought was an odd wording. So I called back and spoke with another CM who did not seem to have a lot of info about it, but told me Alice and the Mad hatter were the only "adults" in the room. The CM also was not clear on the pick up process-but did cheerfully tell me I would have to sign a release form. Did I just get uninformed cm's? :scared:

My DS4 attended the tea party. There were two or three other boys but mostly girls. My son did not notice nor did it bother him in the end. One of the chaperones was male. The table was decorated with great tea pots and Alice figures. It was really neat. I would highly reccomend this--especially for the price of around $35. Beats the price tag of the Princess Tea Party.

My 3 year old son did this before they raised the age limit to 4 this past fall, and he had an absolute blast! He's talked about it for the last 6 months and he's doing it again when we go in May for his 4th birtday. It was definately a highlight of our trip for him!

You have to check them in and you get a beeper in case there are any problems. They do shut the doors to the area and parents cannot go in or see in. (You can go in when they first open the doors to get the kids settled and take a few pics, but then you have to leave). When it's over you have to return your pager and show your driver's license to pick up your child. It all seemed very safe and secure to me. In addition to the Mad Hatter and Alice, there were, I believe 2 CMs working the party.

Hope that answers some questions!

DD(6) did this last year and loved it. You do have to leave them, but it is only for 45 minutes and it was nice to just walk around the GF and check it out. At her party there were only girls. She will be doing it again in May.

My SIL was going to book either the Pirate cruise thing at the GF or Alice Tea for this past trip for her girls because it was my daughter's turn to get the gift of the Princess Tea from her grandmother (the youngest granddaughter will get that gift next trip.) For her, this emphasis was not alarming because she has a child who is very unreliable with being left-- sometimes she gets excited about the activity at hand, and sometimes she gets entirely overwhelmed and falls apart. She was also too young for both activities (she was 3.5 at the time) but SIL was considering fudging on that. (Lets not go *there*, shall we? I am not condoning, just reporting.) The emphasis that the CM put on the adults not being included helped her to decide NOT to fudge the age and also not to book the activity because she didn't want to be out the $$ if her daughter refused to let her Mommy leave. I am SURE that there have been plenty of incidents where a child was not prepared for their parents to have to leave and, as stimulating and thus overwhelming as anything at Disney can be, there was an ugly scene which not only is not magical for the child and parent directly involved, but with smaller kids can have a spillover effect!
