We disembarked today and went back to the WDW Boardwalk in Orlando. The alarm was set for 7.30am, but there was so much noise once the Magic had docked with all the luggage, trash, etc., being off loaded that I woke at about 6.45am and I gave up trying to go back to sleep. So, by 7.30am we were washed, packed up and ready to leave, so we make our final stop in Topsiders for breakfast. We could have had breakfast in Parrot Cay, but we would have had to be up and dressed and out of the cabin by 6.30am.

From deck 9 we saw the most beautiful sunrise over Port Canaveral with dolphins playing in the water. Rick had his usual breakfast of sausage muffin, fruit and cereal. I had the usual cereal and muffin. We were in no hurry to leave, so we hung around with Chris & Family, until it everyone had eaten and we could not put the inevitable off any longer. By 9.00am, we were off and I was waiting by the kerbside for Rick to return with the hire car from Budget. Hazel and the kids are also waiting as Chris is also renting from Budget. Immigration again were so friendly…such a change from last year. We even had a joke with the officer on duty. Never been known before.

The journey to Orlando/Buena Vista took about an hour and we were checking in by 11.00am. As the room was not ready, we spent a couple of hours sitting on the Boardwalk. We were going to go shopping, but as we only need laundry detergent at the moment and as there is a chance that we can get in early we buy this from the shop on the Boardwalk. Deidre and Chris were phoned and they said they were ready for a day on the boat us tomorrow. So swimsuits need to be ready for the morning.

Despite being early and checked in by 11.00am, by 1.00pm the room was still not available, so we give up waiting, collect the car and go and do the shopping. Bread, milk, detergent, juice, tea all purchased from Walmart along with some sandwiches for lunch. We are soon back and sitting down once more in the Boardwalk reception area at 3.00pm still waiting for their room. Finally at 4.00pm, the room became available…..what room did they get? Yes, the furthest room with Boardwalk View, room 1001. But once in the room, and the cases are delivered, I get a load of washing on the go, Rick jumps in the shower whilst I unpack. We finally leave for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at 5.40pm.

One good decision we made was to Valet parked today ($14.00 for 24hrs) and as we can use any DVC Valet parking at WDW DVC resort, we decide not to take the bus but to drive to the Contemporary, use Valet parking there for free and walk to the Magic Kingdom. This works really well, and we are entering the park at about 6.30pm. Once wrist bands are collected along with Trick or Treat bags we head on down Main Street and take the route to Tomorrowland. All the rides are showing approx. 15 minute wait, so we queue for Buzz Lightyear. Cheat Rick beats me!

Over to Mrs Potts Cupboard in Fantasyland for an ice cream and then as it was now 7.00pm, the Trick or Treat lines had opened, so we follow the trail for candy, ending up back in Tomorrowland. We jump onto Stitch’s Great Escape (only 6 others join them - boy was it empty) and then head on over to Adventure Land, just before the first parade starts. Once more, a few more pieces of candy for the bags and then it’s straight onto Pirates of the Caribbean which is a walk-on. We just have time to run across the parade route in order to get to the Haunted Mansion. This is a 15 minute wait and don’t have to wait too long before we are in and queuing for the ride. Unfortunately, the ride breaks down twice whilst we are on it and the second time, the ride is closed down, the lights are turned on and everyone is escorted off the ride and out into the open. We are given fast passes for any ride the park. But it was rather neat to see how some of the Haunted Mansion actually worked though.

As it was nearing time for Hallow Wishes, it was time to meet the BOB’ers outside Casey’s on Main Street. We find Robin & Mike, Walt & Di, Rose & June and Beth, Matthew and their family all waiting. It is extremely warm and humid tonight, so I pop into Casey’s and grabs a coke for us. Finally the wait is over and Hallow Wishes begins and what an amazing firework display. We both got some really great pictures – here’s just a couple.

The group settles down again to wait for the 2nd parade to begin and whilst they wait, Joanne & Roger plus Dan and Nancy arrive. And then Kathy and Mimi arrive with Tinkerbell and I have to have her photo with both of them.

The parade was as good as the fireworks and very enjoyable, but ends all too quickly. This, of course means that the final BOB meet has ended and everyone hugs and bids a final farewell. It was been a really great trip, meeting both old and new friends and for us we still have 6 days left.

What a great day, its nice that you still have lots of holiday left to do :cool1:
