The Disneyland Annual Passholders facebook page just made a post that starting January 5th, only passholders will be able to experience food and 5 new cocktails at Alfresco Tasting terrace. It didn't give too much info, so I am not sure if this means only passholders can make reservations. I copied and paste some info from the website.

Take a Break at the Wine Bar
Relax on the patio overlooking Disney California Adventure park with an expertly chosen flight of local wines. Pair a glass or bottle—or even sangria—with an assortment of delicious Italian-inspired appetizers.
Guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages. A valid form of government-issued photo identification will be required to verify your age. A maximum of 2 alcoholic beverages will be served to each eligible Guest.

Beginning January 5, 2020, Alfresco Tasting Terrace will be reserved especially for Annual Passholders and their guests. This unique dining and lounge experience will feature 5 new signature cocktails—each inspired by the history of Disney California Adventure park.

This place doesn't offer reservations. It is a VERY small rooftop terrace. I love it and am happy to see it is going to be an AP exclusive now. It's sometimes hard to get a seat there. Definitely checking it out next visit.

Ah got it! I went once. I thought it was very relaxing and quiet. Maybe now it won't be lol.

I wonder if they intend this to be permanent or a limited time thing to draw some more people into the park during the “slow” times, and then it’ll revert during summer once a lot of APs are blocked out.

They usually have some wine on the other side of the Wine Country Trattoria in addition to the beers there so shouldn't affect non pass-holders that much

According to this it is permanent. At least thats my guess when it says starting the 5th with no end date
I love that they’re doing this, but I always wonder why.

Is it meant to boost current AP satisfaction or to boost new AP sales? Or maybe it’s to boost attendance at the Terrace. I feel like I have seen the Terrace closed a lot during the later part of last year, which I assume is a staffing decision based on attendance.

If this is a permanent switch, I wonder if it’ll be vacant up there in the summer when all but Sig & Sig+ are blocked out (and especially during the last 2 weeks of the year when only Sig+ can visit) so I wouldn’t be surprised if it reverts (or if it’s closed then), but I’ll be stoked if it remains an AP exclusive!

Nice to have some extra perks for all the money spent at DL!!! 😁

I’m happy to see this too! Note that in the summer, Flex Pass can enter either park if reservations are available (all summer is reservations-required for FP but there are no hard block outs for FP other than the Christmas/New Year’s time).

Oh yeah, forgot about Flex! Now that I think about it, I wonder if this will become reservation required. At least initially I bet this will be pretty busy with a long wait to get in.

Excited by the 5 history inspired cocktails. With a 2 drink max, that means at least three visits to try them all!

This is upstairs, not where you walk up for wine.

I’m guessing boost attendance and increase satisfaction.

You know it’s going to be PACKED with APs wanting something “special.”

Well played, Disney.

That looks like the type of place my oldest daughter and I would go and order one of everything and then eat so much that we can't do anything afterward. :rotfl2: I can't wait to go do that with her.

I can see thats disney's psychology has worked... ppl with APs who might never have gone now have it on their radar because of manufactured exclusivity. As a non-passholder I think it sucks. We loved this little oasis and I think it's pretty crappy theyve made this place off limits to most out of town visitors for whom an annual pass just doesnt make sense.

Screw that wait! That place is so small that we once waited 20 minutes for a table to open up and we were first in line! I will go there if there's immediate seating, but the drinks aren't interesting enough to wait 2 hours. No way.

Agreed. We went for the first time last year a little before they closed for the night and we were the only ones there (and this was early August). It was so peaceful and lovely but I can't imagine waiting very long for a table. What I liked was how peaceful it was which is probably why Disney made this move.... to try and attract more business.

This was one of our favorite, relaxing, quiet places to enjoy - sitting there and looking at the neon of Carsland with some great Disney wines and a few bites to eat. I understand why they turned the place into an AP location with specialty cocktails, but I will miss it ... like I miss the Court of Angels.....
