OK I am having a really hard time deciding my first night. I would love for someone to help me feel confident about a decision for first night dining :lmao: . I am sure I have limited myself to what I can get seating for because we are 26 days out. I want something relaxing if at all possible. I would have loved to do the Teppanyaki grill the first night but it closed during our time period. :(
Our plans for first night we are getting into MCO at 11 riding ME to BC and hitting Epcot. We have a 9 Wishes cruise out of GF. As it stands I have a 5 ADR for Alfredos but I am not sure I want to keep it. We have never eaten there so I don't know what to really expect. If I change it needs to be in Ep, BC, BW or GF. I am steering clear of another character meal because we already have :
Stitch Ohana
CRT
Akershus
CM
CP
I would love to hear any ideas ... the kids are fairly picky eaters so nothing to out there. We already have an ADR for CR and I am on the fence about Le Cellier but we have a lunch ADR for there.

I forgot to add would we be better off just hitting a counter service our first night?

don't bother...we were very disappointed with Alfredos...food was dull, service so-so and since we love Italian food we were looking forward to it. It has joined our list of not-again. I have to say - we live very near NYC and can get the real deal anytime in Little Italy...so we were comparing it to not just the American version of Italian food -but the Italian from Italy. we were not impressed at all.

I got the sausage app - it was overly salty. The main course I don't even remember it...that's how unremarkable it was!!

If I were picking in EPCOT - I usually try Marakesh in Morocco, or the rotating restaurant (can NEVER seem to remember the name) in The Land (Futureworld).

Wow you have a packed schedule your fist night! Just make things easy on yourself and hit a counter service place. I think you'll drive yourself insane if you try and schedule too many things, especially on your first night.

We went to Alfredo's last Sept and loved it. However, it may not be as good these days due to the changing of ownership. :confused3 I am so glad we did it before it's gone for good :thumbsup2 , so we at least know what it was like. From our experience I would have highly recommended it. I loved the atmosphere, too. And, the kids loved seeing them make fresh pasta while we waited.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am really swinging towards just doing a counter service I think it would be easiest on all involved. I do agree I have a big first night planned apparently I lost my brain when I made the schedule. ;) For some ungodly reason my DD loves the Electric Umbrella and feels that we need to eat there at least once a trip, I could get it out of the way the first night and be done with it lol. Not to mention since that first day in Epcot is mainly to get DS's GAC maybe we could go ahead and get our Crystal Magic that we do everytime done then. :)

I keep going back to even if we LOVE Alfredos that will still be a let down because we will never be able to eat there again.

I would skip Alfredo's. We were really looking forward to eating there on our June trip and it was the worst meal I have ever had in my life. The food was beyond horrible & the service was very poor. What is worse is that no one seemed to even care that we did not eat.

Le Cellier for lunch is awesome, dont give that one up.

Alfredos is good but we find the food to be very rich and heavy...I would go there for lunch instead of dinner so I had the chance to walk off all the food during.

What about the Beirgarten? They have great food....I hear that Rose and Crown is very good too, we have never been there but I want to try it on our next trip

We had a pretty poor dinner there in June ourselves. The place was over packed, the ADR was really late, and the food was below average. I'm guessing this is a reflection on the fact they are closing sometime soon. I would skip it.

Thanks guys we have decided that is our best bet to just dump it. It makes better sense financially as well. We have 9 ts planned so will already be paying for 2 oop. I think I am probably going to be ill from all the food by the time we get home lol.:

MickeyNiki would you keep lunch Le Cellier over Beaches and Cream? I was thinking maybe of just going for icecream there since that will be what the kids want anyway. DH is pretty picky about his steak he likes thick ribeyes. We typically do not go to anything other than chain steakhouses because we both eat steak very well done and chefs tend to like to searve it on the other side of the spectrum.
