Sorry I tried to see if there was a thread already but didn't find one and search doesn't work.

However, can anyone give me some reviews on this restaurant or a link to a thread? We just made a ps for next week (wanted to try somewhere new) and wanted some feedback.

Thanks!

You will get the 2 extremes on reviews for this restaurant. Some people love it and others hate it. Unfortunately my family is one that hates it and will never return. We gave it a couple tries and really didn't like it. For us the service was pushy, the food not that good and the bill was expensive for what we experienced. Because of the mixed reviews you will get I would suggest trying it out for yourself. I might go again for lunch, that might be an option for you to try it out.

We put off trying this restaurant because of reviews on this board...what a mistake.

Alfredo's is wondeful..and now one of our favorite WS restaurants.

Go and enjoy...it is excellent!

Looks like most of the poor reviews have to do with feeling rushed which probably depends on what time of the season you go.

We had no problems last Sept.

We just got a PS for lunch at Alfredo's. We've never been, but are curious enough to try. Guess we'll just have to decide for ourselves! :teeth:

Dd, 10, and I ate there last Dec around 5ish. No PS, just walked in. It wasn't too busy when we got there. But it was hopping when we left. We enjoyed the food. I realize that the servers are from Italy, but I found it very difficult to understand the young lady we had. And it was pretty cramped in there. We are planning on eating there again in August but our seating is at 3:30 so hopefully it won't be too busy.

It's one of my favorites also! The handsome Italian waiters are sweet and fun and the food is delicious. I love to sit outside at night - a great way to unwind at the end of a long Disney day!

I hope that you'll try it!

We also enjoyed this restaurant and have been there twice for lunch. (The last time we had one of those handsome Italian waiters AladdinsPrincess was talking about!)

We thought the food was very good and had no problems with service.

Original New York Italian Here.
I too put off eating there for many years due to bad reviews. And the fact its hard to get good Italian Food outside NY.
Ate there last year with a large party that included some relatives
from Italy.
Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had in WDW. (we are DVC and have eaten at most of them).
My father in law just informed that we are without a doubt going back on out upcoming trip this Sept.

we have frequented there over the years and it always has been a pleasant experience even with a 18 mth old! they all were so wonderful with her!

In a row at Alfredo's for us,we will not eat at Alfredo's again ever.

Can you explain what you mean by pushy??? We do not order wines and such at our meals. Will we get looked down upon?? Also, I was planning on splitting my meal (using a connections meal voucher) with my DD. Will this be frowned on too?

We just ate there last week, had an 8:15 PS. They were busy, but not too crowded. The waiters while hard to understand were overall friendly. We thought the menu was a little limited. My husband ended up just having soup and a salad. My kids all had the spaghetti marinara off the kids menu (even though they are older) and I had the Fettucine(sp) appetizer as my meal. Maybe I have a limited palate, but I prefer my budget gourmet frozen fetucinne. Not a bad dinner, but we will not go there again.

MaggieW,
keep in mind this was one family's opinion. Our waitress tried to sell us stuff from the minute we sat down. We had barely opened the menu and she was telling us she was going to bring us one of the apetizer plates. We were a little overwhelmed and before we realized what was happening we allowed this to happen. She pushed the liquor, cocktails and after we had picked a wine recommended a more expensive one which we refused. My sister in law ordered her meal, the cheapest on the menu, and the waitress said that wasn't very good and recommended the most expensive thing on the menu, she kept her original choice and thought it was fine. We just felt like we were getting snowed and pushed. The bill was only a few dollars lesss than CA Grill which is a far superior experience in our opinion.
Also, agreeing with others, we weren't impressed with the menu. I found it odd that the kids dinner menu didn't have pizza on it.
I have no experience splitting meals or using vouchers so I can't help you there.
Others have had a fine time there and good service. This has happened to us a couple of times and this is why we wont go back. For us there are far better dining experiences in WS.
Like I said I might go again for lunch if I wanted some pizza, but I doubt it.

What bothers me about Alfredos is how close together the tables are. Other than that we do enjoy the food and have always had good service, but I hate feeling like I am sitting at the same table as the strangers beside us.

There sure are differences of opinions regarding this restaurant. I have been to restaurants that put you on top of one another and although at first you are uncomfortable, I found it didn't bother us in the least after a little while. I am not too fond of a "pushy" wait staff, this is the one thing that may in fact bother me, let's hope it was just a fluke. I am going to try it and hope that we have a great experience. If the food is good (I've seen the menu and it looks like a good enough selection for us) and the wine is good, I'll be happy!

I will post my review when I get back!

Thanks!

I was there last summer with my 15 year old son. I found the service to be very pushy also. The waitress tried to get me to order a bottle of wine. Did she think that I could finish a whole bottle by myself? Also, service seemed rushed.
However, the year before I went to Alfredo's with my older son and his girlfriend. We had a very friendly waiter who told the kids all about the Alfredo's that was opening in NYC. He didn't try to convince us to order anything extra and the food was very good
We lingered over coffee and dessert and never felt rushed. I guess one's experience depends alot upon the waiter or waitress.

I used to have wonderful meals here in the 80's and 90's. The last 2 times I ate here were very bad. We were one of the rushed patrons you read about. Granted, it was in the middle of June, BUT we had 2pm PS and there were only 5 other tables filled. Were they expecting a major 3pm rush? Our meal was ordered and finished within 30 minutes. When we entered, the Masquerade show was about to begin. It was still on when we left! I'll take counter service over that.

We should have stayed away, but went back the following year. Service was not as rushed, but the server was pushy with cocktails and winelists and things. I think servers should mention it once, and leave it up to the diners. This one would not take "NO" for an answer. Seemed put off when we only ordered soft drinks.

I have read that others enjoyed their recent experiences. Maybe we've just been unfortunate with our servers. Still, I won't be going back.

We love this restaurant and have gone there every trip since Epcot opened. It is our favorite at WDW.:earsboy:
