Has anyone done this excursion? Can you tell me about it?
I have it booked for myself and my three boys while my husband goes diving with my other son, but trying to decide if I should keep it. Seems like a lot of money for painting lol, wanted to see if anyone can tell me more about it and if it’s worth keeping. Boys are 18, 11 and 8.
Thanks!

We did it in February 2020, so don’t know if it’s changed since then. The kids on the group seemed to really enjoy the painting aspect - there were a lot of small wooden animals and people could choose whichever one they wanted to paint. Lots of colors to pick from for the painting.

Before the painting, they’d walk you past some displays of reproductions of different types of Aztec buildings where we learned a bit about the history and culture of the people. That was maybe a quarter or so of the time allotted? Painting was most of it. Then, at the end, there was a demonstration of guys who climbed a tall pole & then hung upside down to spin around really fast…I am not describing it well, but it was interesting to see and more to it that just that. A bit of time for a gift shop & then we returned to the ship.

I think the 8 & 11 year olds would find it fun, especially if they like to paint, but the 18 year old would likely be bored unless he’s into the history aspect or likes artistic things. It felt more tailored to younger kids than adults, though there were a couple of adults without kids in our group.
