After checking in early at Yacht Club, we decided to go to the lounge. I have read somewhere online that they don't start serving food until after 4 PM, but that isn't the case. The CM/waiter told us they start at opening.

We wanted a light lunch as Flying Fish was our dinner reservation that night. We got the buffalo cauliflower and the rolls with bacon jam, citrus butter and cheese spread.

The cauliflower was crispy on the outside and the blue cheese with the buffalo sauce was not too spicy. The rolls were spectacular and were used not only with the accompaniments, but also in dipping into the buffalo sauce. We ended up taking some of the rolls/spreads back to the room. This was an excellent light lunch not only in quality of food at a fair price, but in really relaxing theming. The space is well thought out and the decor/colors just invokes a feeling of peace. Behind the lounge is the bar area which is even more secluded. It looks like an inviting space to watch sports, etc. on the television(s).

Thank you for the reviews! We visited Ale and Compass Lounge on our April trip and we too loved the rolls. We shared the burger there too. It (to date) is the best burger I have had in WDW (and I have had a fair number lol). thanks again

Ale & Compass is a very solid under-the-radar type spot. I've seen most youtubers dismiss it in food overview videos as skippable, because it's just 'meh' overall, but I find it does its job very well.

I had dinner there a couple of years ago and thought it was very good. Those rolls are awesome!

Definitely a hidden gem. I was there maybe ~6-8 weeks ago and had to wait until 5 to order. I wonder if they only serve when the restaurant is open (would make sense) and in that case there might be a gap where food is unavailable between when lunch service ends at 2 and dinner service begins at 5 since the restaurant kitchen isn't open.

That may make sense on the staggered food offerings. We did get there about 1:30 PM. But, there were a few other parties seated about 45 minutes after us and were ordering food. Maybe the summer seasonality kicked in?

Loving the idea of the lettuce and cauliflower with side condiments. Would make a really nice lunch or small plate and since we'll be staying nearby, very convenient.
