OK so I'm a newbie, please don't rip me apart because I'm asking.
I read different information on the threads. I have a simple question: Can I bring alcohol to the cruise?? Like wine and beer??
How exactly does this work?? :confused3

Yes, in a soft sided ice chest of a certain measurement (It has to fit through the scanner, although we have bought alcohol between the airport and port and put it into our luggage and not had a problem). We bring our alcohol with us every trip, and our room steward keeps the ice chest full of fresh ice and frosty beverages for us all trip!

I don't know that soft sided is a requirement. We brought a soft-sided bag and packed beer and liquor in it, but also I stuck bottles of wine in the tote bag that I carried on.

As others have answered, you can bring as much as you can carry on. You can also probably pick more up at the various ports you stop in.

If you bring a bottle of wine to the dining room, you will be charged a corkage fee of $20 (regardless if they are the ones who open the bottle or not). But you can bring a glass of it with you and not be charged.

We just got back from the Magic Western cruise and we did bring alcohol onboard. It was no big deal. We put it in our carry ons. We went to Marshalls and got this cool polka dot roller carryon and I had brought a Coleman softsided cooler as my carryon. We brought a case of beer, a big Margarita pre-made bottle, a bottle of Grey Goose and a bottle of champagne. As long as it is not in your checked luggage, you can bring it in.

On one of our sea days, we loaded up the cooler with beer and just brought insulated mugs for the premade margaritas...it was awesome! :woohoo: You can also just walk around your beverages.

Have a great time!

Disney's requirement is that any beverage brought on board be in your carry on, NOT your checked luggage. There have been several incidents documented on the boards of other people's stuff being saturated because someone didn't follow the rules. Having seen what they did to DD's brand new luggage last year, it's amazing that anything gets thru the system intact!

DCL is one of the few lines that allows guests to bring on their own alcohol. It seems to me that placing this in a carry on is a small inconvenience for the ability to bring it on.
