I occassionally enjoy a drink after a hectic day....is it permissable to pack alcohol in checked luggage or a carry on with airport security being what it is these days??

Hi there! In order to get an answer to your question, I'm transferring this question over to the Transportation Board. Please check that board for further responses. Thanks, and have a great trip! :)

Technically, I believe it is illegal to transport alchol across state lines (Does anyone know if I am correct here?)

However, if you just have a bottle for personal use no one ever seems to say anything. I would pack it in my carryon. If it is not still sealed, they may make you take a drink from it to prove it is safe so either carry a new bottle or be prepared!

I did sit next to two people on a plane recently who had their own vodka. They had tranferred it into a water bottle.

Interestingly, this question came up on our last trip to Orlando, and I didn't really get a definitive answer. I had multiple four-packs of hard lemonade, which I was bringing on our Disney cruise as gifts for some of our crew member friends. This was in a carry-on bag, along with lots of bottled body products from Bath & Body Works. They panicked when they saw all my bottles and unpacked everything to see what was drinkable alcohol and what was body splash. I was told that there is a limit of 8 bottles, but I think I actually had 9. I explained that we weren't planning to drink any of it on the plane...I don't know if that makes a difference. It took some consultation with the supervisor (usually that happens anyway, due to my Disney pins), but we were allowed to take it on. We're doing the same for our trip next week, so I'll report how it goes. Since we take Happy Limo, hubby always begs me to use the grocery stop and buy the alchohol in Orlando, but I like to get everything done beforehand.
