Alcohol carry on policy

As a first time cruiser just asking. Is the water on board that bad? We live on a farm and are used to well water. We dont drink a lot of plain water. We tend to spritz it and add flavours, or we drink cider, beer or wine. I know some people really do prefer bottled water but we would drink out of the fountains in the parks. Do the majority of people drink tap water on the ship? Just asking not debating. We dont drink bottled soft drinks.

We have never had any issues with the water on the ship. I consider myself fairly picky about my water but going up to the soda station to fill up a cup/bottle has never been an issue. I wouldn't want to haul on a case of water. If you need water for your CPAP machine you can fill out a special services form and Disney will deliver to your room for free.

Also remember when you get back on at ports the same rules apply. You can bring on wine or beer but you have to check your liquor.

Very interesting to me. We are whiskey drinkers, not beer or wine as such. I was hoping to bring a small bottle (of whiskey) I guess we'll be in one of the bars in the evening. I like wine with dinner. Beer is too filling. I understand not having people who drink too much. We all have memories of drunks at EPCOT. If you don't you're lucky.

I’ve started drinking scotch since our last cruise. I’m curious to find out what selection they have.

If you're on the fantasy hit up meridian - Christopher is a fantastic bartender and has some very interested peated irish whiskey suggestions.

yeah my husband has a CPAP and we had a great experience with them providing distilled water.

as for water in the room...we were deck 9 and i got a little caddy for cups so getting water for the room really wasn't hard. i ordered water for our room and we all decided that it wasn't worth it. just our opinion.

You don't even need to fill out a form for distilled water....I just chatted with guest services through the app when we boarded and they delivered it right away.

The last DCL cruise I did was in...2010 I believe (yeah, it's been a minute) and back then you could bring on up to two liter sized bottles of anything. I remember we brought rum and vodka and made lots of our own mixed drinks using the drink stations. Of course I was in my 20s then so the ole liver could handle a bit more.

My wife and I are bourbon and craft beer lovers. I'm not expecting much in the way of craft beer, so we're each bringing a six pack of some good local (to us) beer. For the bourbon, we're doing a tasting, but am also hopeful there are some good selections on board. We're going on the Dream. I have seen some of the other ships have at least one bar with some top shelf good stuff. Anyone know if one such place exists on the Dream?

the beers that they had available for the mug/refills did not suck. sure there was miller lite but they usually had a craft or two on tap that was decent (in our opinion anyway - we're folks that honeymooned in belgium for the sole purpose of driving around to breweries back in 2010).

hit the meridian up by Remy/Palo. thats where the good stuff is liquor wise. i mean they have an actual bourbon cart. with pappy. outdoor areas by there you can smoke cigars as well.

Ahhhh that's the fancy small bar between the two restaurants right? Yup definitely will hit that up. We're doing Palo's one night. Starting it off with a good bourbon (mayyybe not the Pappy, but still ha) or an old fashioned would be fantastic.

I much prefer the water from the beverage station over the nasty canned Dasani. I ordered one from the bar once to bring back to the room and it was gross (to me)!

The allowed carry on is "wine/champagne or beer". While actual experiences can vary, it's most often ONLY wine/champagne or beer. If the label has any of those words they've let it pass. If not, than "no".
Do you know about hard kombucha or seltzer? It’s basically the same alcohol content as beer.
