Alcohol carry on policy

Just be aware checking items that contain beverages is not usually allowed. DCL's policy is all beverages must be carried (wheeled or otherwise) onboard, not in checked bags.

Of course, asking a porter if you can check a case of water, they're going to say "yes". They don't work for the cruise line, and they're not going to jeopardize a tip by saying "no".

And, if your checked beverage happens to break and damage other passenger's items, you will be paying for it.
I always thought the same until I saw the water sitting in the hallway. Right now when you off load your luggage in Canaveral a DCL employee is standing right there when you give everything to the porter. :confused3

As a first time cruiser just asking. Is the water on board that bad? We live on a farm and are used to well water. We dont drink a lot of plain water. We tend to spritz it and add flavours, or we drink cider, beer or wine. I know some people really do prefer bottled water but we would drink out of the fountains in the parks. Do the majority of people drink tap water on the ship? Just asking not debating. We dont drink bottled soft drinks.

We too are on a well, for comparison the water on the ship isn't really BAD per se, but nothing like out of the tap at home. It's do-able, if you follow.

Unless things have changed - you can also bring beer/wine on board from each of the ports. When we did a western Caribbean a few years ago my husband would stop just before we got back on board and pick up a couple of local beers to try.

I think the water from the beverage station is very good, ice is there and it is cold. You see lots of people filling their mugs and water bottles there. Never tried it from the bathroom sink.

I think the water is fine. We usually fill our water bottles from the stations on the fourth deck and drink the water at dinner.
Next time I’m probably going to bring sparkling water though, because I have a Lacroix addiction and I was unhappy after four days so I think seven days will be even worse.

It’s actually very good. Some people might enjoy the “flavor” of a certain type of bottle water. But the water on the ship is reverse osmosis filtered so it’s as clean as any bottled water you’ll spend money on.

Did you try the sparkling water out from the drink stations? I find it an acceptable alternative to the unflavored bottled or canned sparkling waters I drink with meals at home. However, I don’t find much difference between various lemon- or lime-flavored sparkling waters. YMMV.

The porters are not going to say no to anything they think will net them a tip. But they're not going to be there when/if those bottles they accepted bust and ruin other peoples' luggage and you have to pay to repair/replace those damaged items.

Policy is any beverages must be carried on board.

DCL delivered them to a cabin with a Luggage Tag stuck on the case...it was sitting in the hallway by the door. Just reporting what I personally saw this past week. Ships crew had to put it there, not the Porters.

I am not saying it doesn't happen. But policy is no.

Will they (the porters) check your water? Yes.

Will DCL deliver it to your room? Yes. As long as it doesn't break in the luggage delivery process and damage other items.

What's the DCL policy regarding beverages? You must hand carry them onboard, not be in checked bags.

Then as "USUAL" the Policy is INCONSISTENT..... Typical DISNEY.

Unfortunately, this happens on other cruise lines, also. Not DCL specific.

Exactly. Like I said, the porters will willingly slap a luggage tag on and take anything they think will net them a bigger tip, regardless of the policies of the cruiseline. Until the lines find a way to punish them for taking things they are not supposed to, it will continue.

But DCL should hold it in the "CONFISCATED AREA" until the passenger gets off like they do with other items. So obviously it is not a "HARD FAST" rule, which is typical.
