Alcohol at Resorts?

Not sure if "restaurants" is the right thread, but here goes:

I know you can walk around with alcohol in the parks and you're not allowed to leave with it.

And I know you can buy alcohol at the resorts -- are you allowed to leave with it?

For example, if I buy at drink at the BWI, could I walk around outside around the boardwalk with it in my hand?

We had no problem doing this at BWI when we stayed there. Simply ask the bartender to put the drink in a to go cup instead of a glass one, and walk around and enjoy the sites! We have also had no problem doing this at WL and Poly.

I vaguely recall drinks being sold in one of the to-go counters on the Boardwalk. Definitely seen plastic beer bottles being carried around...
