HELP,
I've been scrapping for about a year now and I have yet to come to a decision on what 12 x 12 albums to use.
Do you prefer the pages that drop in from the top or page protectors that slide in from the side?
Anyones ideas or suggestions would be so helpful :confused3
Thanks so much
Lesley :flower:

I really like the new Maple Leaf EK albums with side loading protectors, but in the long run, I am a top loading fan. I have some older strap hinge albums with the slide on side protectors and some of the pages near the spine of the book are starting to get worn/creased looking cause the protectors slipped over or such.
Some of my fav top loading 12 x 12's are:
Creative Imaginations
Sanylion
EK
K&Co
Colorbok

LOVE my 3 ring binders! they are big enough to hold 12x12 pages and I can get a lot more pages into them. (and since I like to use lots of embellishments from fibers to bottle caps and everything in between, this is good) I buy them at walmart. (I've seen them at michaels though). maggie

ps: you don't have to scrap in order with a 3 ring binder either since you can just put the page in when ever. I just buy page protectors now and stick them into the album when I'm done with whatever event I feel like scrapping at the moment

My all time favorite album is made by Forever yours, it is a top loading 12x12 album. But they are so hard to find! My LSS use to carry them but they went out of business!
I am really thinking about going the binder directions once my stock pile is done.

I have never been a fan of strap hinged albums. Personally it is a pain to attach them to the book, & I do not scrap in chronological order.

I prefer top loading albums because I do scrap out of order. This way I can arrange my pages anyway I want after I scrap the pages.

Used to sell CM, or "tried" to sell CM. Unsuccessful in sales but I'm a big fan of their products. I think that their 12x12 albums are the best. I wish that they'd make a 12x12 Disney album instead of only a 7x7.

AMEN! Do you think we can start some kind of letter writing campaign?!

I'm a huge CM album fan (will buy supplies from anywhere and everywhere, but only CM albums), but I may have to break my vows to get a bigger Disney album for next year's trip. I already have the 7x7 album, but it will be a dedicated autograph book. I want a 12x12 Disney album!

I think it's a marketing ploy...think about it. Most people need about 2 or 3 7x7 albums for their whole vacation, especially a DISNEY vacation. That adds up to WAY more money for CM. One 12x12 would cost less.

Thanks everyone for your ideas
I have a couple CM albums but I don't like the slide aspect of them, the protector never sits right. I wish CM would come out with top loading albums.
I don't scrap in any particular order either so the top loading or binder ideas sound better for me.........
Oh the decisions we have to make for scrapbooking........
LIFE"S TOUGH!!!!!!...... :rotfl:
Thanks everyone

That reminds me - I have been looking at my WAlmart to see what one of these looks like and I can't find them!

CM doesn't do a top load album because when it's sitting in a book case the dust can do down the top load pages and it doesn't get into the page protectors they make. When I was at CM Showcase this summer everyone was asking about a 12 x 12 Disney and I kind of got the feeling they may do a Persona instead of an album and then you can do our old albums, it's just want I felt I could be wrong but everyone was asking for 12 x 12. Nancy

Yes persona was the feeling I got instead of an album. I have no idea I could be wrong. They were taking suggestions for persona and someone I was with asked about a mickey head and they looked at each other and smiled and said we are working on something Disney. So I don't know what to make from that. Nancy

judith ...persona is a imprint on your album. You can do the cover or the spine. It is NOT cheap. I think the cover is $16, add that to the $38 for the album...whew! Wish CM would do a sale or a coupon once in awhile,or how about double hostess credits.....that would be nice

Goofymom/pop, thank you! Basically it is personalizing your album. I see where it can be costly. One of my LSS does this, but I know it isn't as expensive as CM.

Here is a link for embossing, I haven't used them yet but I didn't think the prices were bad.
The first one you can buy your album and have it done before you start scrapping

She also carried the albums I love at a great price...so I plan to order one from her down the road.
here is another one that jsut does embossing. I hope to take a drive and give her a few of my books.

I haven't used either of these companies.
