Has anyone had their kids do this before? Thoughts?

Yes! my boys ages 7&5 did it last year and absolutely loved it! There were about 12 children. Most kids were about my kids ages. They went to World Showcase by Mexicoand my DS7 thought it was sooo cool that no one else was there. They got lunch too. DH and I loved it too because we had 2 hours to ourselves! Have fun!

DD did it and she loved it. She want to do it again this year. She said it was better than the one at the GF she did. As well as going to Epcot they went over to the BW too. She came back with a bandanna and loot! Here's a pic of the boat:
